least 3 of the issues confronted by the United Nations today.

 PEACE, HUMAN RIGHTS, AND HUMANITARIAN RESPONSE

The UN continues to play a key role in averting conflicts, dealing with emergencies,
and addressing human rights violations today. Approximately 80 treaties and
declarations ratified by the UN uphold and promote human rights throughout the world,
while more than a dozen UN agencies offer emergency help for the more than 100
million people in need of humanitarian aid. But with increased rivalry between major
countries, enduring crises in strategic locations, and a surge in the involvement of
extremist elements in local conflicts, this effort is getting increasingly difficult. The
world's human rights are once again being violated in most places, and as a result,
humanitarian needs have increased. In order to assist some of the world's most
disadvantaged citizens, the UN Foundation raises awareness and funds its efforts.

 CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENT

Without immediate action now, future adaptation to these effects will be more difficult
and expensive. The effects of climate change are unparalleled in magnitude, ranging
from changing weather patterns that endanger food production to increasing sea levels
that increase the likelihood of catastrophic flooding. Alarming research suggests that
crucial tipping points that could have resulted in permanent changes to the planet's
climate system and major ecosystems have already been achieved or passed. We
require more detailed strategies, greater ambition from more nations and companies. All
financial institutions public and private must make the switch to the green economy
permanently.
 MIGRATION

More people than ever before are living outside of their nation of birth nowadays.
The human race has been in motion. Some people relocate in quest of employment or
other financial possibilities, to be near family, or to pursue their education. Others
relocate in order to flee hostilities, persecution, terrorism, or human rights abuses.
Others relocate in reaction to the unfavorable consequences of environmental variables
like natural catastrophes or climate change. Trafficking, remittances, international
student mobility, and other issues are also direct targets of migration. Additionally,
migration is indirectly related to numerous additional cross-cutting objectives. Every UN
Member State is impacted by large-scale refugee and migration movements, which call
for more responsibility sharing and cooperation.
