General Directions:
Please read carefully the instructions below for In-Course Project:
1. The complete solution should be shown by the student and this will also be checked using the
rubric provided. Do not give an easy problem, you will get low mark.
2. Maximum four students in the group.
3. Read and follow the instructions of each type of test very carefully.
4. Also present the Matlab code for solving Q2 and Q3. By group
Present three practical applications solvable by numerical methods also use Matlab Codes for
solving
Q1: Differentiation problem. (8 marks)
Q2: Solution for the root. (8 marks)
Q3: Interpolation problem with and without MATLAB solution. (8 Marks)
Oral presentation of the problems. (6 Marks, note this is divided equally among Q1, Q2 and Q3)
Rubrics
For each of Q1, Q2 and Q3
8-7 marks, for the correct solution showing sufficient rigor and correct answer
6-5 marks, problem has no sufficient rigor, correct solution and answer.
4-3 marks, the problem presented is so easy, correct solution and answer
2-1 marks, the problem presented is so easy, incorrect solution and answer
Oral presentation
6 marks – clear explanation and correct, correct grammar, loud voice and nice appearance
5 marks – explanation not so clear, correct grammar, loud voice and nice appearance
4 marks – explanation not clear, error in grammar, loud voice and nice appearance
3 marks - explanation not clear, errors in grammar, soft voice and not nice appearance
