This chapter presents the related literature and studies after through and in-depth

search done by the researcher. This will also present the theoretical and conceptual

framework to fully understand the research study.

Related Literature

According to Jeff Desimone (2008), drinking coefficient magnitudes fall substantially

in regressions that control for risk and time preference, mental health, self-esteem and

consumption of other addictive health substances. Moreover, the impact of binge

drinking is negligible for students who are less averse.

The social environment inherent in schools impacts both alcohol completion (Steven

F., Kerry Anne, 2007).

The study finds that estimates of the schooling consequences of students drinking

are very sensitive to specification issues (SF Koch, DCRibar,2007).

While research outside economics has found that drinking has a negative effect on

cognitive skill, some economics have failed to find any negative relationship between

drinking and academic performance (Francesco Renna,2006).
