Heart Sweater <3

alexandriamasse.com

PLEASE READ: This is the first pattern I have ever written so there is probably mistakes (why
this pattern is free lol). Please do not attempt this if this is your first time crocheting, this is an
intermediate pattern.

Key
Ch - chain
SL ST - slip stitch
SC - single crochet
HDC - Half- Double Crochet
DC- Double crochet
TRC- Triple Crochet
INC (DC) - double crochet increase (2 double crochet in the same stitch)
INC (TRC) - triple crochet increase ( 2 triple crochets in the same stitch)
DEC (SC) - single crochet decrease

Colour A - Natural
Colour B - Brown
(You can choose your own colours of course, this is just what I did)

The yarn I used is called Briggs Little Heritage, it’s a 2 ply 100% natural wool. I used 2.5 skeins
of each colour. (Each skein is 4 oz. 113g, 215 yards). If you don’t like wool I suggest Red Heart
Super Saver acrylic yarn.
As for hook size I used a 5mm crochet hook.
There’s 7 parts to this sweater, the front body, the back body, the 2 arms, the 2 arm cuffs and the
bottom base cuff.
First we we start with the back body (make 1). You need to make the back body first because
you’re going to base the front off of how large the back is so please ensure it’s the correct size
for your body. A good tip that I always do is compare my pieces to a sweater that already fits me.
(For this pattern I copied a men’s large sweater I thrifted)

The last step is to weave in

the ends and stitch the
sweater. I just used yarn and
a whip stitch. I also suggest
that you full the garment if
you worked with wool.

The red dots on the diagram

are where I started each
row. The red zig zag line is
how i stitched the sweater
together.
