Bottom (Motifs 7.1-7.5):
Start from the top of the bag connecting 10
motifs as you go into a loop (Motifs 1.1-1.10). Motif 7.1:
Continue adding motifs (2.1-2.10, 3.1-3.10, connect 1st petal in p from Motif 6.3,
4.1-4.10, 5.1-5.10, 6.1-6.10). 2nd petal in con sc bet Motifs 6.2 and 6.3,
3rd petal in p from Motif 6.2,
At the end make Motifs 7.1-7.5 joining them as
4th petal in p from Motif 6.10,
you go to both sides to create a bag bottom.

• Start from the top of the bag connecting 10 motifs as you go into a loop (Motifs 1.1-1.10).
• Continue adding motifs (2.1-2.10, 3.1-3.10, 4.1-4.10, 5.1-5.10, 6.1-6.10).
• At the end make Motifs 7.1-7.5 joining them as you go to both sides to create a bottom.

Lining
• Measure bag. Cut quilted fabric to 33cm/ 13''or width of your bag plus 3cm/ 1 ¼'' (includes
1.5cm/ 5/8'' SA (seam allowance) for both sides) by 81cm/ 31 8/9'' or height of your bag x 2
plus 10cm/ 4'' (includes 5cm/ 2'' SA for both top edges).
• Fold lining in half RS inside and straight stitch sides with 1.5cm SA. Overcast raw edges
separately. Press seams open (pic. 1). Turn RS out (pic. 2).

• Cut lining fabric to 33cm/ 13'' or width of your bag plus 3cm/ 1 ¼'' (includes 1.5cm/ 5/8'' SA
(seam allowance) for both sides) by 76cm/ 30'' or height of your bag plus 5cm/ 2'' (includes
2.5cm/ 1'' SA for both top edges).
• Fold piece in half RS in and straight stitch sides with 1.5cm SA. Overcast raw edges together
(pic 3). Press seams to one side. Insert lining in quilted lining (pic. 4).

• Insert lining inside the bag (pic. 5). Make sure lining is 5cm/ 2'' taller that the bag. Take lining
out of the bag.
• Fold cord in half.
• Pic. 6: Press 2.5cm/ 1'' of quilted fabric from upper edge down x2, tuck in lining and cord
ends (2 ends bet side seam and hem, folded end between another side seam and hem). Baste
and straight stitch upper edge and cord ends close to fold. Go back and forth a few times at
the sides where cord ends are attached.

• Pull cord out of the bag and straight stitch cords to the upper edge on both sides. Go back and
forth a few times.

Assembly
• Place lining inside the bag. Hand-stitch upper edges of top motifs to the lining with back
stitch, making small invisible stitches on RS (pic. 8).
• Hand stitch bottom corners to lining (pic. 9).
