CLASS XII (SCIENCE)

General Instructions for All Subjects:

1.All assignments (Holiday Homework) will be graded.

2. Project work/ Practical files are part of Board Practical assessment so
submit neat work.

English
1. Use Black waterproof ink.

2. Project should be written in neat handwriting.

3. Take care of paragraphing, punctuation marks and spellings. Paragraphs should be indented.

4. Use neatly covered hardboard file.

5. Page sequence should be strictly followed as: - Acknowledgment, Index, Project content, Bibliography.

Undertake any four written assignment of 500 words from the list given below.

1. The text of a brochure

2. A product description

3. A process description (eg, instruction to operate a device, a recipe, a scientific experiment)

4. Description of a sporting event

5. An autobiographical experience

6. Review of any one of the following suggested English movies.

a. Forrest Gump (1994)

b. The social Network (2010)

c. Life of pi (2012)
 d. The pursuit of happyness (2006)

e. Everest (2015)

Undertake any two written assignments of 800-850 words, which should be structured as given below:

A. The written assignment must be given a title in the form of a question to explore the drama or the chosen
short stories/poems in depth.

B. The written assignment must follow the structure given below: Introduction:- Explanation of the question
that has been framed Reason for choosing the text - Brief explanation of how you intend to interpret the
chosen text and literary materials used in the process.

Main Body - organised and well-structured treatment of the question using appropriate sub-
headings.Conclusion comprehensive summary of the points made in the main body.

List of suggested assignments for Project Work:

1. Analysis of a theme from any short story/poem in the prescribed texts.

2. Analysis of a character from the drama or any short story/poem in the prescribed texts.

3. Background historical, cultural, literary context and relevance of the writer/poet chosen.

4. Interview any working professional in your vicinity.

5. Comparing and contrasting two characters/themes from different short stories/poems of the prescribed
texts.

6. Identifying with a character in the chosen text and presenting his/her personal perspective.

7. Writing a short story based on a poem.

8. A script for dramatization, based on the short story/poem chosen.

Note: You can make project based on interview based survey, you can prepare an essay or assignment
based on listening a podcast or a TV documentary, you can prepare a role play based on the themes and
ideas expressed in the class XII text books Flamingo and Vistas.

Biology

Make one investigatory project record (that should include certificate, acknowledgement, index, details of the
project, case study, and bibliography )from the following topics
1. Drug addiction
2. Cancer
3. Mental health and disorders
4. Infertility
5. Immunity
6. Gene Therapy
7. DNA Fingerprinting
8. Poisonous plant toxins
9. Haemophilia
* Apart from the above-mentioned topics, *suggestions* for other topics(strictly according to the syllabus)also
are solicited. Students need to note and comply that they will do the research and make the project first in
*rough* (MS word) for the requisite proofreading and checking.

Physics
Do Research on any one of the following topics of investigatory project and make report of the project:
1. To study various factors on which the internal resistance/ EMF of a cell depends.
2. To find the refractive indices of (a) water (b) oil (transparent) using a plane mirror, an equiconvex lens
(made from a glass of known refractive index) and an adjustable object needle.
3. To investigate the relation between the ratio of (i) output and input voltage and (ii) number of turns in the
secondary coil and primary coil of a self – designed transformer.
4. To investigate the dependence of the angle of deviation on the angle of incidence using a hollow prism filled
one by one, with different transparent fluids.
5. To estimate the charge induced on each one of the two identical Styrofoam (or pith) balls suspended in a
vertical plane by making use of Coulomb’s law.
6. To study the factor on which the self-inductance of a coil depends by observing the effect of this coil, when
put in series with a resistor/ bulb in a circuit fed up by an A.C. source of adjustable frequency.

Chemistry
Art Integration Project:
Topics :
1. Solubility of salts (Students can do different salts and check their solubility in water).
2. Concentration variations with temperature.
3. Exothermic reactions taking place in our home and surroundings.
4. Shampoo as an emulsifying agent.
5. Effective of a soap /detergent on the basis of bases present. (CMC)
6. Depression in Freezing point: showing an activity adding of salt in making MATKA KULFI.
Students will do any one activity at home and will take pictures while doing their activity .They will make a
report including Learning outcomes and Conclusion of activity.

Physical Education
1. Write procedure for Asanas, Benefits & Contraindication for any two asanas for each lifestyle diseases.
2. Write any one game of your choice out of the list mention below with labeled diagram of Field and
Equipment (History, Rules, Terminologies and Skills)
