Hose Integrity Management
Flexible Hose Assemblies (FHA’s) can have
a significant effect on the safe operation,
reliability and environmental integrity of our
customers equipment and assets.
EnerMech Norson’s hose management
capability is a field proven, bespoke system
designed to provide clients with the comfort
that their FHA inventory is fully compliant to
recognised industry wide standards, whilst
ensuring unplanned breakdowns, shutdowns
and environmental spills due to the integrity
of FHA’s are eliminated.
EnerMech Norson will tailor a program
specific to each individual client’s needs
to ensure their FHA’s maintain technical
integrity throughout the intended life cycle.
We operate a Reliabilities Centered
Maintenance philosophy to achieve
operational efficiencies, reduce maintenance
costs and subsequent inspection costs.
The management of client’s FHA’s can be
conducted onshore or offshore by hose
inspection surveyors who have considerable
knowledge and experience of many global
locations and assets.
The Hose Integrity Management services
provided by EnerMech Norson includes:
• Supply of Personnel to carry out onsite
hose inspection
• Classification of hoses in accordance
with UKOOA guidelines including
recommendations of inspection/
replacement strategy
• Training of customer personnel in
hose inspection
• Provision of an Online Hose
Management System
• Supply of replacement hose and fittings,
if required.
• Provision of personnel and equipment to
remove, refit hoses or manufacture
hoses at clients onshore/offshore locations.
Online Hose Management System
To compliment our hose management survey
programme, EnerMech Norson have
developed a bespoke online hose
management tool. This web-based tool
allows the client full access to all critical
information regarding FHA’s on specific
assets. The system provides 24-7 access to
hose specification and inspection information,
as well as providing intelligent reporting
functions.
The flexible design of the system means that
we can adapt to our individual customer hose
management requirements.
The registers are stored securely with
our web-based OHM database and are
accessable via EnerMech LIVE.
The register/system features include:
• Tagging and location details
• FHA technical specifications
• Direct link to copy of test certificates
• All current and historical inspection results,
work packs and survey reports
• A reporting link between the customer
and EnerMech Norson
• Visual evidence of any unsatisfactory
findings or recommendations
• Hose classification in accordance with
UKOOA guidelines
• Recommend inspection/replacement criteria
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
The vast majority of flexible hose assembly
manufacturers adopt a basic method of
identification and tagging. This method can
be impractical and is prone to damage and
ozone degradation. EnerMech Norson offers
an RFID tagging capability which when used
with our powerful handheld devices where
survey information is recorded directly by the
engineer inspecting and managing the
FHA, automatically updating the online
register. This eliminates the paper trail
back to the office and creates a streamlined
communication between the client and
their asset.
Training and Competency
EnerMech Norson recognises the importance
of competency within the workplace and to
that end we provide full training packages for
both staff and customers which are specifically
designed to suit hydraulic/mechanical/
instrumentation technicians’requirements.
This provides personnel with a level of
understanding of industry requirements.
Training can be undertaken at our custom
built training facilities or at a customer’s
site/location.
The benefits of EnerMech Norson’s
training and competency program include,
but are not limited to:
• Raising competency levels to allow core
crew personnel to reduce non-
conforming/unsatisfactory FHA’s
• Raising competency levels to allow Users to
inspect utility hoses prior to and after use
