DAYWORKS RATES FOR LABOUR

Payment at labour Dayworks rates shall apply to labour

authorised by the Engineer to be employed on Dayworks,
calculated from the actual hours certified by the Engineer as
having been worked by such labour on the authorised
Dayworks.

The rates inserted shall include for Contractor's overhead,

profits and the items listed below:

• Recruitment charges, including in respect of imported labour

the cost of transportation to and from country of origin, and all
other associated costs;

• Establishment charges;

• Statutory requirements in respect of the employment of

labour, labour permits, Workmen's Compensation Insurance
in accordance with the Conditions of Contract, training levy,
non-contributory sick pay, gratuities;

• Obligations under contracts of employment;

• Housing costs;

• Subsistence allowances;

• Food allowances;

• Medical treatment;

• Travel allowances (fare and/or time);

• Transport to or from the Site or about the Site;

• Contributions to redundancy payments;

• Payments in respect of time lost due to

inclement weather;

DAYWORKS RATES FOR LABOUR (CONT'D)

The rates inserted shall include for Contractor's overhead,

profits and the items listed below (Cont'd):

• Reduced productivity during Ramadan;

• Public and other holidays with pay;

• Overtime;

• Incentive bonuses;

• Executive superintendence;

• The cost of foremen and gangers employed on supervision

only;

• Time keeping;

• Protective clothing and safety equipment;

• The use and maintenance of small tools (such as picks,

shovels, spades, wheel barrows, trowels, crow bars, hand
saws, buckets, trestles, hammers, chisels and all items of
a like nature), appliances and small plant;

• Extended use of standing scaffolding and plant;

• Any cost of overhead charges in respect of camp

administration, welfare, and any other costs or allowances;

• Head office charges and profit;

DAYWORKS RATES FOR MATERIALS

The item for the cost of materials shall apply to payments

for materials produced by the Contractor or purchased
materials authorised by the Engineer for use on Dayworks.
The net quantities and weights verified by the Engineer in
accordance with his instructions shall be measured.

The rates inserted shall include for the cost of local

transport and handling from place of procurement or place of
arrival in the country to a central store on Site, the cost of
storage, insurance, superintendence, and any other costs or
allowances. Nails, screws, tying wire and the like shall not
be measured separately and the cost shall be held to be
included in the rates.

The cost of the distribution of the materials from the

Contractor's store or stockpile on Site to their position in
Dayworks shall be measured and paid under the provisions
for labour, Construction Plant employed on Dayworks with
the Engineer's authority.

DAYWORKS RATES FOR PLANT

The item for the cost of Construction Plant shall apply to

Plant authorised by the Engineer to be used on Dayworks.

Payment shall only be made for the time the Plant is

actually working on Dayworks as authorised by the
Engineer and certified by him. Idle time, where due solely to
the nature of the Dayworks or authorised method of
procedure, shall be paid for at one half of the rates stated in
the Plant and Marine Plant Schedules. Idle time due to
breakdowns, inefficiency or incompleteness of the Plant
shall not be paid.

The rates inserted shall include for the cost of electric

power, water, fuel, oil and other consumable stores and
equipment, power cables, delivery or suction pipes and
fittings, steam or air hoses and tackle and all other
appurtenances of whatever nature required for the efficient
and safe working of Plant, including maintenance, spare
parts, drill bits and points and all costs of repairs,
depreciation, insurances, superintendence, and any other
costs or allowances and inclusive of the cost of operators
and drivers.
