Materials Explanation

Roofing

Metal Aluminum A metal roof provides

better weather
protection than other
materials. Compared to
shingles and clay tile,
metal roofing holds up
better against hail and
extreme winds in
addition to being fire
resistant.

Foam Insulator Insulating foam provides

effective thermal
insulation, as well as very
good levels of acoustic
insulation. That means
that wherever you install
insulating foam in your
home, be that in the
walls or the roof, for
example, you’ll stop heat
energy and sound energy
from travelling both in
and out.
Black paint The reason black
paint dissipates
heat more than
any other color is
that black is the
most capably
dissipative color
for infra-red (heat)
wavelengths. As
we all know, back
is very absorbent
when energy rays
(visible AND
invisible) such as
sunlight hit it.
Walls
Concrete Concrete home
construction provides a
more durable wall
system over wood and
steel. Concrete walls do
not rot when exposed to
moisture by wind-driven
rain, diffusion, or
airflow. Unlike steel,
concrete does not rust
when exposed to
moisture. Concrete
walls resist termites.
Neutral color wall paint It gives a natural cooling
effect through walls
Flooring
Wood Wood is a natural
insulator. Wood has a
lower thermal
conductivity compared
to concrete, steel-frame
and masonry
construction and is
ideally suited to energy-
efficient design. As a
natural insulator, it
provides some of the
world’s coldest climates
with warm and
comfortable dwellings.
