PART 1 Study the examples and usage of the verb be + gonna (going to).
Later, when Monica is talking to Joey about the turkey on his head, she says...
“ That turkey has to feed 20 people at my parents’ house, and they’re not gonna eat it
off your head!”
In addition to expressing plans for the future, “gonna” often expresses expectations for the
future. In the examples from the video above, Phoebe expects Monica to freak out, and Monica
doesn’t expect her family to eat the turkey off Joey’s head.
Write the correct form of be + (not) + gonna + a verb which fits the context of each
PART 2
sentence to express an expectation for the future. Pay attention to negation!
EX. I always cook turkey very well. You are gonna love it when you try it!
5 Karl and Megan any turkey at our Thanksgiving dinner. They’re vegans.
6 Eating a big meal can make you tired, so after the Thanksgiving dinner I
