Topic: Report on Healthy Lifestyle

As an introduction on the talk, the speaker asks us some of simple questions such as
what our BMI is, how many calories in a glass of ‘teh tarik’, current pulse rate, the indicators
that a medicinal product is genuine and current blood pressure reading. The main topic of the
talk is on how to maintain our healthy lifestyle. There are multiple causes on such disease. One
of the reasons is the environment follow up by nutrition, genetics, and mind. Even so, we cannot
just blame on our genetics, which we get the disease from our family, because it can be changed
based on how we adapt to eat.

Other than that, components that lead to healthy lifestyle are our mind, body, what we
eat as a routine, and the environment. If we keep our components on a good way, healthy
lifestyle can be achieved. General health also had been listed from the talk. The points are
substance abuse, which is drug addict, obesity, nutrition and calories, exercise, healthy mind,
health and medicinal products, and general health and medical check-up. From the talk, it
shows the graph on how many people had become drug addict. The percentage between male
and female is 96:4. Opiate is the most famous drug that had been taken at the percentage of
60.5%. The major reasons for people started to drug are because of peer influence, curiosity,
and depression. A lot of effects from the drugs that can affect the body had been exposed to us
in the talk. Firstly, LSD, which will lead to anxiety and panic attack. Next, is marijuana which
will lead to confusion and many more.

In addition, issue of smoking also had been discussed. People wants to smoke just want
to act as a style and fashion, and social pressure. As we all know n the effect of smoking, it
will affect the internal body such as brain, lungs, heart, liver, and kidneys. The blood vessel
will be a bit small when someone is smoking. Secondary smoker also will be affected by the
smoke. People need to stop smoking by using the smoking cessation that recommends by the
doctors and pharmacists. They can talk about method and cessation, medications that need to
be take, and motivation.

The talk continues with the topic of obesity. Malaysia comes second after Singapore
(43.8). Mostly Asian countries have the problem of obesity. Obesity also had it implications
such as diabetes, cancer, stroke, pulmonary disease, and many more. However, there are ways
on how to prevent obesity. Firstly, avoid liquid sugar. Drink fruit juice with less calories, less
sugar, and more fibre. Simple healthy plating guide also had been shown on the talk which we
need to take only two to three plates per day. People also can use the food pyramid to check on
the healthy food. Next, we can do a lot of simple exercise to prevent obesity, such as walking,
and jogging, which will loss fat and decreases their blood pressure.

To add up, other than problem that comes from the external, issue from the mind and
mood had been pointed out. The examples are such as depression and anxiety. People need to
get enough sleep if not they will several disease like sleep deprivation and sleep apnea.
