CAPITAL Yerevan
The largest city of Armenia, and one of
the world's oldest continuously
inhabited cities. Situated along the
Hrazdan River, Yerevan is the
administrative, cultural, and industrial
center of the country.

languages common in Armenia include French,

Shikahogh State Reserve


The second largest forest reserve in
Armenia, Shikahogh State Reserve is so
unspoiled that large parts of it remains
unexplored to this day. The forest is
believed to be home to animals including
leopards, bears, wild goats and vipers and
it is also thought that Shikahogh State
Reserve has about 1,100 species of plants,
although its fauna has not yet been fully
explored.

Noravank
Monasteries are one of Armenia’s defining
characteristics and the example at Noravank
is one of the most beautiful in the whole
country. Sheer brick-red cliffs shield the
monastery, which was built in the 13th century.

Icheri Seher

Garasu Volcano

Gobustan
Gobustan is often referred to as the
Azerbaijan version of Stonehenge in the
United Kingdom, as it features a prehistoric
cromlech (a circle of stones that have
been positioned vertically). It doesn’t end
there however, as Gobustan is an
archaeological reserve that lies to the
south of Baku and offers a fascinating
insight into ancient civilizations due to over
6,000 rock drawings that span over 537
hectares.

Baku Seaside Park


Baku Seaside Park and Boulevard is the
place to come for those visiting the country’s
capital, and you will find a wealth of
activities here, including old fashioned tea
shops and cafes that are perfect for whiling
away the hours or indulging in a classic

CAPITAL Tbilisi
Its cobblestoned old town reflects a long,

ornate art nouveau buildings and Soviet
Modernist structures. Looming over it all are
Narikala, a reconstructed 4th-century fortress,
and Kartlis Deda, an iconic statue of the “Mother
of Georgia.”

Lookout Mountain

Lookout Mountain, at the border between


Georgia and Tennessee, was the scene of a
Civil War battle, but is best known today for
the nature park along its rocky ridge. Begun in
1932 and made famous by more than 900
barn signs in 19 states, the park features trails
through a series of rock formations and across
a swinging bridge to Lookout Point.

Wrapped up in Crusader history, Akko has
a mellow harbor full of colorful, bobbing
fishing boats; a vibrant bazaar crammed

the center of the empire.

• Palestine is known for some of the most beautiful wildflowers in the world,
popping into existence mostly in April and May. These include irises, jonquils,
wild poppies, and other vibrant species of flowers which paint the colorful
hillsides during a short spring season.

• The majority of the population is Muslim, although there is also a large


population of Christians as well.

• Christmas is celebrated three times each year. The first of which is December
25th, per western tradition, followed by January 6th per Greek Orthodox
tradition, and finally on January 18th, as per Armenian tradition.
