Polka dots ( poids), floral, checks or checkered, camouflage, tartan or plaid (imprimé
écossais), herring bone, howndstooth, gingham, animal print, paisley (imprimé cashemire),
cartoon, hawaienne, nursery print,
- Patterns could be printed but also woven (imprimé ou tissé)
- We have two types of fabrics : knit (la maille) and woven (chaine et trame) (warp and weft)

3 main types of weave :

- Y plain weave (toile) like madras or gingham
- Twill weave (sergé) like denim
- Satin weave (satin) like duchess or satin crepe
