Guideline/Description: Reflection paper and an answer to the guide question; What do

you think is the most influential and significant revolution defined by proponents that
contributed to defining today’s modern society?

REFLECTION:
Learning about intellectual revolution is very informative yet a little bit confusing
for me since I am not familiar with or can’t remember if we tackled this when I was in
senior high but when I read this and try to understand by watching videos about this on
YouTube makes me easier to understand and it is simple and enlightening. It is exciting
to know some things that I am not familiar with for the reason that I want to gain more
knowledge about this topic. There are different revolutionary ideas given by different
intellectuals. First, is Copernicus, who is known for his concept named Heliocentrism
which he believed that the center of the solar system was not the earth, it is actually the
sun. Before him, there was Claudius Ptolemy, who believed that the earth is the center
of the solar system and people believes it too but Copernicus proved it wrong. I didn’t
even think or realize that the earth was the center-a concept since we all know that the
sun was the center of the solar system. Furthermore, Copernicus, Darwin, Freud, and
all intellectuals who are given their revolutionary ideas, contributed a lot to people’s
lives. We, people, are trying to improve what is best for society almost every day and
even society is trying to make an effort to achieve the development of humanity.
Changes are always meant for society so intellectual revolution has a big part in
transforming society from time to time, transforming societies by opening our eyes and
our mind. It helps us what is of value in life for oneself and others.

I think the most influential and significant revolution that contributed to defining
today’s modern society is the Information Revolution. In today’s modern society, we are
using technologies in order to communicate with other people easier and to exchange
information. Computers are increasingly faster and this brought changes in the way
people live their lives today. These changes have brought many benefits to society.
Furthermore, it’s still bringing benefits until now. Information Revolution has made it
possible to do many things. It helps me to find new information or ideas easier.
