Our planet has faced environmental problems since the beginning of humanity. I've been thinking
about our responsibility to care for our planet, our communal home. Nobody claims ownership of Earth.
So, who bears the major burden? What is my ultimate obligation, and how can I help this planet? We
cannot disregard the warning signs. Everyone is affected by the repercussions. In this essay, I will talk
about the agricultural products in our province and how we can help our environment.

Hinatuan, is a coastal municipality in the province of Surigao del Sur. It is famous for its
mysterious yet amazing tourist spots. You might have heard about some of the famous tourist spots in
Surigao del Sur like the magical river or the breathtaking waterfalls. Indeed, Surigao del Sur is blessed
with beautiful destinations. Facing the Pacific Ocean, its stunning islands are inviting for some island-
hopping activities. The province of Surigao Del Sur is not only rich with its beautiful sceneries. But it is
also rich in agriculture. Surigao Del Sur is one of the richest agricultural provinces in the Philippines. Its
main agricultural crops are rice, corn, coconut, sugarcane, bananas, pineapple, coffee, mangoes, tobacco,
and abaca. Secondary crops include cassava, camote, garlic, onion, cabbage, eggplants, calamansi, and
more. The major livestock products are hog, cattle, carabao, goat, and dairy products. Chicken and duck
are the leading poultry products. Most people here are supporting their daily needs through agriculture
because they can get food and earn money. In Surigao Del Sur, besides mining, agriculture is important
because it is one of the main employments and everyone is engaged in it, even children.

Now, how can we grow good crops if the environment we live in is unclean and uninhabitable by
plants? Of course, we clean our environment- and make it a breathable place for all of us. The way I
viewed things in the past about the environment has changed. In the past, I was not aware of the
importance of living a more sustainable life. Also, how protecting our environment is one of today’s most
serious issues. Humans are ruining the world and depleting all of the natural resources it gives.
Unfortunately, many people are unaware of or unconcerned about what will happen to our world once
they are no longer living. A healthy environment is imperative for the continued existence of humans,
animals, and plants alike. There is an urgent need to preserve Nature’s wealth and handle the
indispensable resources which Mother Earth generously provided us with. Several pressing efforts can be
undertaken to safeguard our environment and save the planet before we are completely wiped out.

The most vital step to protect mother earth is to plant more trees. The government should
discourage and prohibit tree cutting and forest fires, as well as providing environmentally friendly goods.
Planting trees aid in the rapid absorption of carbon dioxide. Trees emit oxygen, which we require to
breathe. Trees prevent stormwater runoff, which reduces erosion and pollution in our rivers and may
mitigate flooding consequences. We might invite our friends or family to join us in planting a tree near
our houses. Environmental protection also includes animal rights and justice. It is critical to conserve and
save animal species to save the earth. This includes limiting the use of animal goods; animal fur is widely
utilized, notably in apparel. Animals are hunted for their skin, exploited in scientific experiments, and
slaughtered in vast numbers. These have effectively pushed them on the verge of extinction. This may be
avoided by vowing not to hunt animals and discouraging poaching.

Additionally, water is a fundamental natural resource for the survival of species. However, on a
daily basis, we waste large amounts of it and pollute lakes, rivers, and seas by dumping garbage and
killing marine life, which is also a significant food source for humans. We should save water by turning off
taps after use and avoid littering the water bodies. Moreover, we should pursue the habit of recycling and
reusing whatever we can. Last, of all, everyone has a vital role to play in creating awareness to awaken the
masses to the environmental problems and work on a solution.
