FIELD-LOADABLE SOFTWARE SYSTEM

1. PLANNING INFORMATION

A. SB EFFECTIVITY

Aircraft affected:

MODEL SN
EMBRAER 190 ECJ 19000203, 19000225, and 19000243.

Affected component:

Network Interface Controller (NIC) / Processor (PROC), Actuator Input-Output Processor

(AIOP) and Central Maintenance Computer (CMC) modules with Pentium M processors.

In-production effectivity:

Embraer 190( ) aircraft SN 19000236 and on optionally , equipped with modules with
Pentium M processors, have an equivalent modification factory-incorporated.

B. CONCURRENT REQUIREMENTS

None.

C. REASON

(1) HISTORY

PRIMUS EPIC software LOAD 23.2, which is a Pentium M compatible software, is

being released to fix and improve functionality issues related to the Avionics, Flight

SERVICE BULLETIN
(2) OBJECTIVE

This Service Bulletin introduces PRIMUS EPIC software LOAD 23.2

PN PS7027709-00217.

(3) EXPECTED BENEFITS

LOAD 23.2 version for PRIMUS EPIC field-loadable software system will fix and
improve the functionality of the Avionics, Flight Controls and Auto Pilot Systems.

In addition to corrections, the LOAD 23.2 will deliver the capability for the platform to
perform the following new functions: Flight Management System (FMS) Required
Navigation Performance (RNP) less than 0.3, Automatic Dependent Surveillance -
Broadcast (ADS-B) Out, Runway Awareness and Advisory System (RAAS). Each of
these new functions require a specific Service Bulletin to be enabled.

(4) REVISION HISTORY.

REVISION 01: This revision incorporates Information Notice SB190LIN-31-

0008R00-IN03 that changes APM OPTIONS Part Number from
DM7038966-211 to DM7038966-209. It also changes AMI Database
Part Number from DM7031021-01000 to DM60000990-1100. In
addition, Figure 1 page 15 and Figure 2 pages 27 thru 32 are
showing revision bars though they remains unchanged.

D. DESCRIPTION

The modification presented in this bulletin consists in uploading PRIMUS EPIC

LOAD 23.2 version and performing the flight control system return-to-service test to check
its functionality.

It is necessary to simultaneously reload the current and applicable databases as follows:

– FMS Navigation Data;

– FMS Aircraft Performance Data Base;

NOTE: The Flight Management System (FMS) Aircraft Performance Data Base for
LOAD 23.2 is not compatible with the FMS Flight Management System (FMS)
Aircraft Performance Data Base from previous PRIMUS EPIC LOAD.

– APM Options;

– APM settings version to LOAD 23.2, as applicable;

– AMI Database PN DB60000990-1100, or a customized version applicable to LOAD

23.2.

To reload the applicable databases, it is necessary to connect a notebook personal

computer (PC) with remote terminal software version RT 21.0 DLS 5.2.0 to the local area
network (LAN) port.

PRIMUS EPIC LOAD 23 version implements changes in some DVDR parameters. These
changes also affect the QAR if it is configured to record the FDR parameters. Hence, if
the database of the software used for analysis of DVDR/QAR recorded data is not
updated for Load 23, the parameters conversion will not be properly performed.

NOTE: The modification presented in this bulletin does not affect the Fatigue
Critical Structure (FCS).

E. COMPLIANCE

This bulletin may be accomplished at any time, at the operator’s discretion.

OXYGEN - REPLACEMENT OF ALTITUDE PRESSURE SWITCH FOR OPERATION AT
14,000 FT

1. PLANNING INFORMATION

A. SB EFFECTIVITY

Aircraft affected:

MODEL SN
EMBRAER 190 ECJ 19000243.

In-production effectivity:

The subject presented in this bulletin does not affect any in-production aircraft.

B. CONCURRENT REQUIREMENTS

The installation of the PRIMUS EPIC FIELD-LOADABLE SOFTWARE SYSTEM LOAD

23.1 or higher version is required for the accomplishment of this Service Bulletin.

C. REASON

(1) HISTORY

The Takeoff (T/O) and landing operations at high altitude airports require an
appropriate altitude pressure switch. The current altitude pressure switch detects a
cabin altitude between 14,000 and 14,750 ft. Then, during operation at 14,000 ft ,
this current altitude pressure switch commands an undesired Passenger (PAX)
Oxygen (OXY) masks deployment. The proper altitude pressure switch in this
condition commands the deployment between 14,400 and 15,000 ft.

(2) OBJECTIVE

To replace the current altitude pressure switch that actuates between 14,000 and
14,750 ft with new one that actuates between 14,400 and 15,000 ft.

(3) EXPECTED BENEFITS

This modification is to avoid undesired Passenger (PAX) Oxygen (OXY) masks

deployment for 14,000 ft operation.

(4) REVISION HISTORY

None.

D. DESCRIPTION

The modification presented herein consists of replacing the current altitude pressure
switch PN 4421003-001 with new one PN P24099, and modifying the electrical
connection of the altitude pressure switch connector.

To do this, it is necessary to gain access to the work area in the Forward (FWD) Avionics
(AV) Compartment (COMPT) Right-Hand (RH) side through door 123BL.

NOTE: The modification presented in this bulletin does not affect the Fatigue
Critical Structure (FCS).

E. COMPLIANCE

This bulletin may be accomplished at any time, at the operator’s discretion.

F. APPROVAL

The technical aspects of this Service Bulletin are approved by: Agência Nacional de
Aviação Civil (ANAC).

G. ESTIMATED MANPOWER

This estimate is for direct labor only, performed by experienced personnel, and does not
include the time to plan, prepare, or inspect the work.

It is assumed that all the tools, parts, and other means are readily available when
necessary.

This estimate does not include the sealant, paint, or adhesive curing time.
