Introduction

This report's main focus is to provide an overview of the local public transportation system in Satu
Mare and to highlight what measures could be implemented in order to make it a more desirable
mean of transportation for the citizens.

Current Situation

Following a survey conducted among the population of the city, there are a number of points that
could be outlined concerning the current state of the urban transportation provided by Transurban.

First of all, the newly introduced hybrid buses have been praised by passengers. The new system is
user-friendly for the older generations, as signaling buttons are now available at every seat. Not only
are the new buses more professional in terms of tech-system, but they are also more aesthetically
pleasing and sustainable.

However, the condition of the older means of transportation is inadequate, the buses are unhygienic,
making them an undesirable alternative to the hybrid buses. Moreover, the schedule is not followed
accordingly at all times, resulting in the overcrowding of some lines and the passengers being late.

Suggestions

It has been stressed that one of the most beneficial changes would be updating the web page by
introducing a detailed schedule for every station. Also, by introducing the routes on apps such as
Google Maps and Apple Maps, public transportation would be accessible to foreigners too. It is of
utmost importance that the experience of traveling with the bus is enjoyable, therefore regular
sanitization is recommended.

Provided that these recommendations are implemented, there would be a significant rise in the
number of people using the public transport.
