APJ Abdul Kalam International Essay Writing Competition

 Event Date – 20th February 2021

 Registration Fee – None, the event has free participation for eligible candidates.
 Eligibility Criteria – Open to ‘bona fide’ school students pursuing 11th or 12th
grades and Undergraduate students from any recognized
School/University/Institute.
 Event Platform – Mettl.
 Word Count Limit – Maximum of 1000 words and minimum of 800 words (Will be
strictly enforced).
 Topic – Category 1: Threat of Climate Crisis and Category 2: #Covid 19 and
Remote Learning: Is this a change for good?
 Judgement Criteria – Relevance of Topic, Structure and Development, Vocabulary
Resource, Grammatical Accuracy. (25 marks each)
 Other regulations – Timing of event 3 hours.

Procedure
 Participants will join the Mettl link at the provided time.
 Only one participant can join the link to attend the event.
 Participant will type out their response with their video cameras/audio turned on.
 50 participants will proceed to the semi-final from the preliminary round and
top 10 shall go into the final round from which 2 will be awarded the prizes
from each category.

 Results will be released post the event.

 Event Prizes
1st Place gets 25,000 Rupees + Scholarship
2nd Place gets 15,000 Rupees + Scholarship

conducted on 18th February 2021 on Zoom at 5 PM to 6 PM (IST).
