Bridge Deck Girder Installation

The purpose of bridges road building facilities that support road traffic or moving loads over obstacles
or low places, for example in lakes, rivers, canals, highways and their combinations. Because this topic is
very important to know about the installation of girder bridges.
The purpose of this poster is to explain how to install the girder bridge, namely using a crane by
placing the girder in an elongated position above the pedestal, then unification of the girder using the
stressing or post-tension method. This topic is very important so that the installation of the girder is in
accordance with the existing instruction and regulations, so that it runs smoothly and safety.

Method and Material
The Study is a descriptive analysis studied. We did an analysis on the Yogyakarta Sanggrahan Bridge.

Procedures for making posters regarding the installation of bridge girder must be surveyed

We took our analysis from journals and looked at several websites, one of wich was Lin Ned, TY and
Burn, NH.1989. Desain Struktur Beton Pratekan.

1. Question
 What are the girders used for?
 How to lift Girder?
 What must be paid attention to when installing Girders?
 Why must the Girder be installed with a diaphragm?
 What method was used when installing the Girders?
2. Camera
The camera is used for documentation and observation results for a review of Girder installation.

The Notebook is used to write down observations while in the field
4. Manual Book
The manual is used to see the installation is in accordance with the instructions.
Result
1. Lowering the girders and plates from the tailer truck vehicle by using a crane.
2. The girder is placed in an elongated position on the pedestal supports.
3. Unification of the girders with the stressing method and the post-tension method
4. Then proceed to launch the girder in a stretched position with the erection method.
5. Then install the diaphragm beam.
6. Then the last is the work of the bridge slab.
Discussion
The bridge girder it self has the function of carrying moving loads (cars, trains, and people). These beams
can be made of concrete, steel, or wood. But in this implementation method discusses the use of concrete
blocks. To provide a stable bond between girders in the horizontal direction a structural element called a
diaphragm is used. The use of the girder shape in this work needs to take into account the angle of
inclination given in the trigonometry equation. In planning the construction of this bridge, careful initial
planning is needed, one of which is girder planning. Installation of girders must be carried out carefully
according to the directions of the architect and contractor.

Conclusion
In conclusion, knowledge and experience in the field are needed regarding the methods to handle the
installation of the girders. In addition, good project management is needed so that the selected work
methods can be implemented properly.
