GENERAL CONDITIONS

SCOPE OF WORKS

The work to be performed under this contract consist of the furnishing of all materials, labor and equipment,
transportation and other facilities necessary to complete the project in accordance to these Specifications and
Contract Drawings.

PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS

It shall be the duty of the contractor to carefully examine, compare and verify the data furnished by the Plans and
Specifications.

LAWS TO BE OBSERVED

The Contractor shall comply with the laws, City/Municipal Ordinances and all government regulations in so far as
they are binding upon or affect the portion of the works hereto. The Contractor or those engaged thereon shall
obtain all necessary licenses and permits and be responsible for all damages to persons or property that may occur
in connection with the prosecution of the work.

MATERIALS

Unless otherwise specified, all materials shall be new. The quality of materials shall be of the best grade or their
respective kinds for the purpose. The work shall be performed in the best and most acceptable manner strict
accordance with the requirements of the Plans and Specifications.

WORKMANSHIPS

All operation required under any and all parts of the Specifications shall be undertaken in the neat, workmanlike
manner. Only skilled personnel with sufficient experience in similar operations shall be allowed to undertake the
same. Any alteration or revision on the execution of Drawings without approval from the Owner shall be under
subsequent rejection and shall make the Contractor responsible and liable for any workmanship and execution
defects.

TEMPORARY FACILITIES

The contractor shall provide and maintain adequate weather-tight temporary facilities with water, light and toilet
facilities. The Contractor shall keep such places clean and free from files; remove all connections and appliances
connected therewith prior to the completion of the Contract; and leave the premises perfectly clean.

The Owner shall provide temporary lights and power and shall pay all expenses in connection therewith.
Furthermore, the Owner shall provide and pay for all water expenses for building purposes that are required by all
trades. The Contractor shall facilitate temporary connection for both electricity and water.

PROTECTION OF WORK AND OWNERS PROPERTY

The Contractor shall put up and continuously maintain adequate protection of all his work from damage and shall
protect the Owners property, as well as all materials furnished and delivered to him by the Owner. He shall make
good any such damage, injury or loss except such as may be caused by the agents or employees of the Owner, of
due to causes considered as an Act of God.

INSPECTION OF WORK

The Owner or its representatives shall, at all times have access to the work whenever it is in preparation or
progress and the Contractor shall provide facilities for such

CLEAN UP

The Contractor, prior to the turnover of the work to the owner, shall remove any rubbish from the premises and all
tools, scaffolding, equipment and all materials not property of the Owner.

CONCRETE WORKS

Section 1.0 Concrete Reinforcement

Part I General

2.1.1 GENERAL
All concrete shall have a minimum compression strength in 28 days of f’c = 20.70 MPa (3000 psi) except
lean concrete with f’c = 10.30 MPa (1500 psi).

Part II Materials

2.2.1 CEMENT
Should be Portland cement in all areas

2.2.2 AGGREGATE
Well-graded, clean, hard particle of gravel or hard rocks

2.2.3 WATER
Clean, free from soils, acids, alkali, and other deleterious substances

2.2.4 REINFORCING STEEL


Shall be free of mill scales, oil, or any substances which will weaken the bond with concrete.

2.2.5 WIRES
Gauge No. 16.

2.2.6 FORMS
Commercial standard, moisture resistant, 1/2 phenolic board.

Part III Execution

2.3.1 MIXING CONCRETE


The concrete may be mixed at the site of the work in a central mix plant or in truck mixers. Mixing time will
be measured from the time all materials, except water are in the drum. Ready-mixed concrete shall be
mixed and delivered in accordance with requirements of AASHTO M 157.

2.3.2 PLACING CONCRETE


Depositing shall be done without segregation, rehandling or flowing of concrete. Placing of concrete with a
free drop or fall of more than 5 ft is not allowed. Concrete shall be deposited, vibrated and cured in
accordance with the specification. For concrete deposited against the ground, lean concrete shall be laid
first before installing the reinforcement.

2.3.3 FALSEWORK
Formwork shall be constructed such that it will not yield under the contemplated load and shall be such as
to avoid the formation of fins at intersection of surfaces. All exposed concrete surfaces shall have a smooth

finish and true to lines, shapes and dimensions shown on the drawing. Stripping of forms and shores shall
be as specified in the plans.

2.3.4. PROTECTION AND CURING OF CONCRETE


Concrete surface shall be protected from harmful effects of sun, wind, and running waters and shall be
kept damp for at least 7 days.

STONE MASONRY

Stones shall be the approved quality sound and durable and shall be free from dirt oil or any injurious
defects which may affect the proper adhesion or mortar. It shall have a width of less than 1 ½ times its
thickness. No stones except the headers shall have a length of less than 1 ½ times its width.

Immediately after being laid, and while the mortar is fresh, all face stones shall be thoroughly cleaned of
mortar stains and shall be kept clean until the work is completed.

Weepholes shall be placed horizontally at the lowest point where free outlets of water can be obtained and
shall be spaced at not more than 2.00m C/C in staggered manner.

SITEWORKS

CLEARING AND GRUBBING


Removing and disposing all vegetation and debris except those objects that are designated to remain in
place.

LAYING OF WORK
Lay all work true lines and grade; establish staking fully

EXCAVATION AND FILLING


Extent and elevations of excavation as shown on drawing; practice extra care to protect adjoining
properties and utility lines

FILLING MATERIALS
Of approved materials placed in layers not exceeding 150mm each thickness, compacted to 95% standard
density at optimum moisture
