Food sample analysis

AIM: To detect the presence of carbohydrates, fats and proteins in the given foodstuff.

APPARATUS: Test tubes, beakers, glass rod, droppers, filter paper, burner.

CHEMICALS: Fehling solution A & B, iodine solution, NaOH solution, 1% CuSO4 solution.

Place a drop of sample on a filter No greasy or translucent Fats are absent.
paper and let it dry. spot on the filter paper.

RESULT: The given foodstuff contains starch.

PRECAUTIONS:
1. Use freshly prepared reagents for performing tests.
2. Use minimum quantities of reagents.
