Reflection: THE RON CLARK STORY

Being a teacher is a noble job that not everyone is qualified to get the
opportunity to teach and share their knowledge to leaners. My reflection on
Ron Clark story Mr.Clark had a promising career in his small hometown
North Carolina but his passion pushed him to serve outside his town which is
located in New York, he started working as a public school teacher, at first
he get to know the student one by one by visiting them to their houses. So,
the first meeting weren’t as good as it go, He got to meet different character
of student which challenge his profession, the student weren’t respecting Mr.
Clark as their classroom teacher, But, Mr. Clark did not give up easily
instead he was very patience towards the student who were unruly and
disrespectful. He made everything just to get the students attention, but it
came to an end that he thought of quitting the job because he thought he
couldn’t manage to change the students. But, He came to realize that
quitting is not the answer to his commitment he remembered that he was
always encouraging the student to follow their dreams. And so he went back
to teach and as the days goes by the students learn to listen by his way of
teaching. He created a bridge towards his learner to have a personal relation
for them to interact in class discussion. He never stop to encourage learners
specially to those he knows has a lot of potential. One day he was diagnose
with pneumonia but that doesn’t stop Mr. Clark to teach his learners with his
enthusiasm. He injected technology just to get in touch by his learners to
continue discussing his lesson, he doesn’t see his sickness as hindrance in
teaching and because he’s aware that the final exam is fast approaching so
he made a way to reach out to his student even if they couldn’t discuss and
meet physically. By the end of the exam everyone passed the test and he
acknowledge it by giving them an award system. But, there was a point that
the student was being comfortable in their studies and received a failing
marks, so Mr. Clark was mad about it because he knew that the student
could have done much better than they showed result in exam, On the final
term the student got the highest rank and even exceed the top class, the
school wasn’t expecting that a lower class handled by Mr. Clark could have
brought the best on each one of the student.

The moral of the lesson is he was able to discipline the student in his
way because he thought of them as his own and no one gets left behind
despite what race they belong, and when we say about “Family” we care and
love them no matter how they treat us. And our passion drives us to do our
purpose by sharing our knowledge and to bring out each learner’s potential
capacity that they don’t know they have it within themselves and that what
makes Mr. Clark an effective teacher in his field.
