TASK 1

To ensure that students will achieve the course outcome which is:
CLO2: Demonstrates the problem-solving approach in resolving welf are economics issues in real
estate market.

THE QUESTION
You are required to f ind a case study in any districts of Perak State or any States in Malaysia, by
reading on the internet. The site should be a “brownf ield site”. Proposed the redevelopment of the
“brownf ield site” by using the related and theories in land economics.

INSTRUCTIONS
Form a group which consists of 5-6 members among your class. You are required to produce one (1)
report in PDF f ormat (not more than 30 pages) which should include of the f ollowing answers:

i. The introduction of the proposed project

ii. The background of the chosen site comprising of the Location, District, the history of the
chosen site, description on previous economics activities on the chosen site
iii. Describe your idea of redevelopment on the brownf ield site - type of development you are
planning to develop
iv. The specialization activities will be carried on upon the redevelopment (f or example;
residential, commercial, retail or industrial activities)
v. Any relevant data, f acts and f igures (data on economic report/ statistical department of
Malaysia)
vi. The illustration/layout plan on the proposed redevelopment - the drawing, any imitation f rom
the redevelopment examples whether the site is in Malaysia or outside of Malaysia
vii. Conclusion

➢ Then, you are required to summarize the report in the f orm of a printed AO Size Poster
which consist of : (an abstract of the project, background of the project, the idea of
implementation of the project, layout plan/ illustration on the project, relevant data and
conclusion)
➢ It is a f ree f ormat poster report.
➢ Any report f ound to be plagiarized will be penalised as accordance to UiTM Academic
Rules.
➢ The assessment rubrics are as f ollows:
➢ The PDF Report (Task 1) (70%)
➢ Poster (Task 2) (30%)
➢ Poster Presentation (Presentation) (20%)
