ASSIGNMENT BRIEF

PROJECT (50%)
Instruction:
1. This project is compulsory to all students from MPU 3342 WORK SOCIOLOGY & MALAYSIAN
INDUSTRY RELATIONSmodule as a part of the module assessment.
2. Students are required to form a group consists of 5 person in the same class. Each group will
submit a full report (30%) and presentation (20%) based on the topic chosen.
3. Each group need to identify an industry (banking, manufacturing, retail, information technology,
communications, agriculture, customer service, etc.) to use for the case study. Perform research
on the sector, including major corporations within it, typical workers, and how work and workers
within it have been impacted by globalization and technology in the last thirty years. Explain how
these changes have influenced the personal relationships and work tasks within their organization.
Conclude with an appraisal of whether the changes have been a benefit or harm to the lives and
livelihoods of the workers.
Globalization
Explain how globalization has impacted the workers within the industry and the
relationships they have with one another.
Technology
Explain how technology has impacted the workers within the industry and the
relationship they have with one another.
i. Every member has to be ACTIVELY involved during the presentation on Week 9 – Week 12.
ii. Presentation may use PowerPoint slides or any online presentation software i.e. Prezi.
iii. Students are REQUIRED to bring their own laptop to present.
iv. Slides must contain [introduction, content, evaluation, suggestions (if any), and
conclusion] of the topics given from first page. Slides must not EXCEED than 10 slides.
v. It is MANDATORY to email your presentation slides and soft copy of the report with
group members name and ID number send to
Kalaivani.munusamy@limkokwing.edu.my by one of your representatives for each
group.
vi. You are advised to wear FORMALLY during your presentation.
vii. Please enquire the lecturer for any information regarding the presentation.
