INSTRUCTION Model the 3D topography based on 2D CAD data

PROCEDURE

STEP KEY POINT

1. Launch AutoCAD

2. Click on Open and select DCP

3. Type “EATTEXT”. Press space bar.

5. Save the .dxe file

6. Click Next

7. Select Text and Mtext. Then click
Next.

8. Select Position X, Position Y and


Value. Click Next.

9. Click Next.

10. Select Output data to external file i. Save as .csv
(.xls .csv .mdb .txt). Select . ii. Click Next

11. Click Finish

12. Open the saved .csv file.

13. Highlight the top row and click


Filter.

14. Select the dropdown menu for i. Set the value is greater than 0,
Value > Text Filters > Custom Filter and is less then or equal to 80.
ii. This is the limit for the value
that can be extracted from the
CAD file.
iii. Click OK
iv. Make sure the limit value is
correct and after completion,
only numbers are shown.

15. Select and copy all the value for
Position X, Position Y and Value.

16. Paste it in the new sheet from cell
A1. Delete the previous sheet.
Save the new .csv file.

17. Select Select Massing & Site >
i. Make sure the ”Phase
Toposurface
Created” is ”Existing”

18. Select Create from Import > Specify ii.


Point File. Select the .csv file that
haas been created. Click Open and
select the unit format in Meters.

i. Delete any point that is not


19. Click to (Zoom to Fit) make the
correct by referring to the CAD
drawing to the center
