Reagent Barcode Manual

1. Reagent Barcode Setting

・Log in as service engineer mode.

Note : Please refer to “Chapter 4. 4.12 Log Off,Log In screen ” for Log in as Service engineer
level.

System screen setting


1. Click System tab at the top of the screen.
2. Click Sys.Param button.
3. Click Reagent Barcode setting button.
4. Click Reagent Barcode button and click Save button.

Click “System”.

Maintenance screen setting


1. Click Maintenance tab at the top of the screen.
2. Click Reagent Barcode setting button.

Click “Maintenance”.

Click “Reagent Barcode Setting”.

In this screen, you can make reagent barcode form and select “open” or “close” setting. In
addition, make corresponding table between barcode code number and item number of system.
(Bottle : System Item list)
You don’t need to use barcode with dilution bottles and cleaning detergent bottles.

2. Close System and Open System Setting

Close : Allows setting of the reagent bottle by barcode reading. Doesn’t allow
manual setting in reagent screen.

Open : Allows manual setting of the reagent bottle in reagent screen.

1. Open Maintenance screen and click Reagent Barcode setting button.


The following screen is shown.
2. Click Close button or Open button.

Click “Close” or “Open”.


Selected checkbox is applied.

3. Reagent Maker Setting

・Set Maker code and Maker name for reagent barcode. Input directly in the list.

Maker Code : Input maker code. (1 - 5 digit)


※Refer to the following Barcode Format about digit.
Maker name : Input maker name. (Max 16 digit)

4. Barcode Format ・Barcode label position

・Set format of reagent barcode.


Input starting digit and the number of digit directly in the list.

Note : Put the barcode to reagent bottle with above format.

Note : Maximum digit number of reagent barcode is 24 digits.
Barcode length should be less than 50mm.
Need enough quiet zone that more than 10 time of the thin bar.

・Explanation of each item


1. Maker code : Discrimination number of reagent maker. (Up to 5 makers)
2. Bottle item code : Please set a peculiar number for each item.
3. Bottle kind : Reagent bottle kind. (1 =R1 , 2 = R2)
4. Exp. Date (Year) : Last digit of YYYY
(Past 2 years and future 7 years are selectable.)
5. Exp. Date (Week) : 1-52 weeks.
The 1st week of the beginning in January which is together
with all of seven days from Monday to Sunday is counted as 1.
6. Exp. Date (After Open) : Expiration date is counted down from when you set bottles.
7. Bottle size : Size of bottle (mL) and reagent volume
8. Lot No. : Reagent Lot No.
9. Bottle code : Individual bottle discrimination No. (1)
10. Bottle No. : Individual bottle discrimination No. (2)
11. Check digit : Check digit (Modulus10 / Weight3)

Note : There is limit to input for each item. Digit limit is as follows.
Set “0” for unused starting digit and number of digit in the list.

Maximum setting digit : 24 digit

1. Maker code : 1 – 5 digit : Necessary


2. Bottle item code : 1 – 5 digit : Necessary
3. Bottle kind : 1 digit : Necessary
4. Exp. Date (Year) : 1 digit : Optional
5. Exp. Date (Week) : 2 digit : Optional
6. Exp. Date (After Open) : 2 digit : Optional
7. Bottle size : 1 digit : Necessary
8. Lot No. : 1 – 5 digit : Optional
9. Bottle code : 1 – 5 digit : Optional
10. Bottle No. 1 – 4 digit : Optional
11. Check digit : 1 digit : Optional

For above necessary items (Maker code, Bottle item code, Bottle kind, and Bottle size), it is
necessary to set value except for 0.
Necessary items means minimum required information for Test Count and Round
registration.
It is not checked for check digit.

・Bottle size
By using “Reagent volume setting tool”, you can customize the reagent volume freely.
The following is the default setting of reagent volume.

Reagent residual quantity

Example: Bottle Number 4


New Bottle;
Reagent residual quantity = 100 (%)
Reagent remain = 50(mL)
Reagent remain count
=(50-[ dead volume])/( time of the amount of the reagent used)

※ Since it is calculated from the height of a reagent solution side, there is some error.

・How to use the Reagent volume setting tool

1. Please click BiOLiS 50i Superior /Tools /Bottle Volume Setting.

2. Please click a box and input value.

*When you would like to save the values, please click Save button after
shutting down analyzer software program.
*When you would like to check the current settings, please click ReRead button.

5. Bottle : System Item List

“Bottle : System Item list” is a corresponding table for item code of reagent barcode and items
inputted on system. It is available to set by each maker code.

7. Setting of the Reagent bottle

1. Click Reagent tab at top of the screen. The following screen is shown.

2. Set bottles with barcode, click Bottle Read button.


※All reagent information is overwritten even if reagent is in use.
3. The scanned barcode information (ID, Item name, Bottle position etc ) is shown
automatically.
It is shown blank which is no barcode information.
4. Confirm contents and hit Save button.

In case of barcode is not checked correctly. Error is appeared in barcode ID part.


Maker code mismatch : Failed to Check ”Maker Code”= *
Item code mismatch : Failed to Check “Item Code”= *
Bottle kind mismatch : Failed to Check “Bottle Kind”= *

※1. You can use multiple bottles of the same item.


Using up the first bottle, the analyzer aspirates reagent from the second bottle.
※2. If a reagent is expired, an error message is shown and at the right side of
message, Item No, Item Name, and the reagent bottle position are shown.
Reagent expiry date is checked when Analyzer program starts and save
button in the reagent screen is clicked.
※3. You cannot save expired reagents
※4. Even if reagent is expired after saving, you can use to measure.
※5. Using multiple bottles, the analyzer doesn’t check reagent lot No.

8. Other Important Points

1. Click Reagent tab at top of the screen. The following screen is shown.

2. If you want to exchange by one bottle, please input bottle position in the “Pos. box”.
3. Set bottles with barcode, click Bottle Read button.

※1. The new bottle information is registered for inputted position number after all the
barcode reading.
※2. Only one position you can input.
※3. The second bottle setting follows the procedure of first bottle if you need to set the plural
bottles.
