Task 2 Tips in Writing The Review of Related Literature Davalos - Francis - D
A review of related – and preferably recent – literature is meant to set your research in the
context of what is currently known about the topic and to establish that what you have to offer
is novel, something different from what has been already attempted.
A review of related literature is important in one’s research paper because it is meant to set
your research in the context of what is currently known about the topic and to establish that
what you have to offer is novel, something different from what has been already attempted. A
review of related literature (RRL) is important for obtaining an overview of the current
knowledge on the topic. It provides the researcher with a framework on which to build an
appropriate hypothesis.
