ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS.

Q1 Azfar runs a seafood café and he will go to the bank to deposit the previous daily sales
every morning. Suppose that the waiting time Y before he will serve by bank staff is a
normal distribution with a mean of 7.2 minutes and a standard deviation of 3.5
minutes.
(i) Find the probability that when he gets the waiting ticket number it will be at least
0.25 hours until he is served.

(ii) Find the probability that the average time until he is served will be less than 10
minutes, if there are five randomly selected customers.

Q2 Thailand border has reopened for tourists after closing for more than two years due to
Covid -19. Since it was open, many Malaysians go on vacation to Thailand by train
and plane. However, the ticket price is not fixed. The average ticket price for a plane
is RM350 with a standard deviation of RM125 while the average ticket price for a train
is RM75 with a standard deviation of RM55. Find the probability that in a fortnight,
the average ticket price for a plane is more than RM200 than the ticket price for a train.
