What is stress?
Stress is the physical and mental response to a perceived threat or challenge.

Effects of the Fight-or-Flight Response include::


1. Increased blood flow to the muscles
2. Decreased blood flow to the digestive system
3. Increased heart rate.
4. Increased breathing
5. Adrenalin released into the bloodstream

Emotional signs of stress include::
1. Crying
2. Frustration
3. boredom
4. worrying

Mental signs of stress include::


1. Difficulty making a decision
2. Trouble concentrating
3. Forgetfulness
4. Loss of one’s sense of humor
5. Lack of creativity
Behavioral signs of stress include::
1. Not eating or overeating
2. Substance abuse
3. Tapping feet
4. Hurrying
5. Nervous ticks
6. Changes in social interaction
7. Changes in activity level

Personality

Personality
is a combination of how you think, believe, and behave to define how you are a
unique individual.

Heredity
is all the traits and characteristics that are passed along biologically from
both parents to a child.

Environment
is all of the influences from the world that surrounds you.

Behavior
is the set of actions that an individual participates in.

There are three main factors that influence your personality::

3. Behavior
Maslow’s Hierarchy Needs are:
Physical needs
Emotional needs
Aesthetic needs
Self-fulfilling needs
