Post Conference of Guidance Counselor with Adviser

The current pandemic has clearly affected the teaching learning process that usually takes
place in school. Certainly, our learners cannot avoid its impact in terms of their domains of
development. While the Department has been responsive thru its Basic Education Learning
Continuity Plan, it is crucial to cater to the life skills development of learners which will empower
them to overcome the different challenges and adapt to the “new normal” brought about the current
crisis.
Homeroom Guidance shall complement the Department’s goal, which is to produce
holistically developed.
Last January 4, 2021, the Guidance Counselor had a post conference with the class advisers
via Video Call to monitor the progress and development of implementing Homeroom Guidance with
the learners. Every teacher addressed the academic, personal/social and career development needs of
the learners in a developmental, comprehensive and pro-active manner.

The Learner’s Orientation about the Learning Objectives and Evaluation of their
Development

Homeroom Guidance Program provides wholesome learning experiences in the


classroom that will foster positive attitudes, behaviors and values and improve relationship
between teachers and students. Guidance and counselling are important for children, and
schools have a huge role in bringing out the best in children. Good conduct is coveted, but
sometimes young minds need guidance to polish their personality. Through counselling,
children are given advice on how to manage and deal with emotional conflict and personal
problems.

Proper counselling will help incorporate valuable lessons in their daily life. Some
sessions should involve career guidance, where the students are advised on the selection of
courses and different career paths. It's important to prepare them for life after school and
what to expect in the different fields they might opt for.

The adviser of Grade 5 conducted an orientation with the pupils last December 9,
2020 via Video call in Messenger about the learning objectives of Homeroom Guidance and
to evaluate as well their development.
