1. Let the three resistors of resistances R1, Ω , R2, Ω  be connected in parallel
2. Since all three resistors are between the same two points A&B, the voltage is
constant
3. Let V volts of p.d. be applied by the battery. Then all three resistors have
voltage as V volts
4. The current flowing through the cicuit be I amp. and the current distributed
through the resistors be I, A, ; I2A ; I3A ; I3A respectively
5. Acording to Ohm's Law,
V = IR in the circuit
.'. I = V/R
Similarly I = V/R
I2 = V/R2
I3 = V/R3
6. I = I+I2+I3
V/R = V/R1 + V/R2 + V/R3
V/R = V[ 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3]

The reciprocal of the resultant is equal to the sum of the reciprocals of
