Potential Difference (p.

d) :-
The amount of work done in moving a unit positive charge from one point to another
against the force of repulsion is called pottential difference
.'. Potential Difference = workdone/charge
V = W/Q
SI unit of p.d (voltage) is volt
V = 6V means p.d = 6 volts

Current :- [Electric Current]

-> Movement of electrons (negative charge)
-> (convention) Movement of positive charge
-> (definition)
The amount of charge flowing through the conductor in unit time is called current
Current = charge moved/time taken
I = Q/t
SI unit of current is ampere
I = 3A
=> Current = 3 ampere

Potential Difference = work done/charge moved

Definition of 1 volt :- When a work of 1 joule is done in moving 1 coulumb of

charge, then 1 volt of p.d exists across the ends of the conductor.

Current = Charge moved/Time

1 ampere = 1 coulumb/1 second

Definition of 1 ampere :- If 1coulumb ofcharge is moved in 1 second of time, then 1

ampere of current is said to be flowing through the conductor.
