SPECIAL BULLETIN NO. 1, S. of 2020 FOR MDL / HSP

September 3, 2020

Our dearest Parents / Guardians,

Happy teacher appreciation day!

In connection with Bulletin No. 9, S. of 2020, we recognize the challenges you are facing in your
homes such as erratic internet connectivity, frequent power interruptions, conflicting work and school
schedule, and etc.

To further assist you, we at SVMA shall be adjusting on how your child/ren shall take the mastery
examinations. May we request that you choose from one of the following options:

Online – Using Google Meet, the mastery evaluations shall be taken online at a scheduled date
and time. The student shall use a device (laptop/desktop/tablet/etc.) to participate. Students
are required to wear any SVMA shirt during online evaluations to foster discipline and proper
ethics. These evaluations shall provide concrete results and are numerically graded.

Portfolio – The student shall submit a portfolio in hardcopy on the due date set. The portfolio
contains all of the student’s written output for the entire duration of the quarter. However,
because of its intangible nature, the portfolio shall be graded using Rubrics. Rubrics is an
evaluation guideline utilized to check for consistency of student’s learning expectations and if
they had met the standards of the school.

When submitting a portfolio:

1.) Have your child/ren compile all of the written tasks in a folder.
2.) Label and arrange the contents according to the following subjects:
a. Mathematics f. Civics and Culture /
b. Science Social Studies /
c. English Language History
Arts g. MAPEH / TLE /
d. Literature HELE/ Character
e. Filipino Formation
3.) In the SVMA pad, the student must write a description of the portfolio. A
description includes a summarization of his/her acquired knowledge for the
quarter, his/ her achieved goals, and etc. Students under the Early Childhood
Department (Junior, Senior and Advanced), who still have difficulties formulating
sentences, they can draw the description instead.
