COVID-19 pandemic, also known as the coronavirus pandemic, is an


ongoing global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused
by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The novel
virus was first identified from an outbreak in the Chinese city of Wuhan in
December 2019, and attempts to contain it there failed, allowing it to spread
across the globe. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared a Public Health
Emergency of International Concern on 30 January 2020 and a pandemic on 11
March 2020. As of 12 February 2022, the pandemic had caused more than
409 million cases and 5.8 million deaths, making it one of the deadliest in history.
People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging
from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after
exposure to the virus. Anyone can have mild to severe symptoms. People with
these symptoms may have COVID-19, such as Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness
of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New
loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or
vomiting , Diarrhea and more. If you feel like you may these symtoms above

prevent getting covid 19 such as, Maintain a safe distance from others (at least 1
metre), even if they don’t appear to be sick, Wear a mask in public, especially
indoors or when physical distancing is not possible, Clean your hands often. Use
soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub, Cover your nose and mouth with
your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze, Get vaccinated when it’s
your turn and follow local guidance about vaccination.
