PF – COLD-SET
PHENOL FORMALDEHYDE RESIN

Phenol-formaldehyde resin used as a cold-set binder for cores and molds which used in
the foundry industry.

Cold mounting or embedding is when a resin is mixed with a hardener (or accelerator) to
provide the mounting compound, and then the polymerization process take place to form
the block.

Application:

As Cold-set binder for cores and molds used in the foundry industry .

Uses:
Mix 100 pts of dry clean silica sand with 1 pts. Hardener (Para toluene sulphonic acid)
for 2 min. and add 2 pts. Cold set resin for 3 minutes then put the mixture in the clean
mould and released after 30 min
