SURFACE The performance of this product is straightly related to the surface preparation grade.
PREPARATION
Remove completely oil and grease according to SSPC-SP1 solvent cleaning.

Remove loose powdery deposits using a dry brush. High-pressured freshwater must be used to
remove all soluble salts.

Metallic surfaces

New Works: the surface must be clean, dry and free of contaminants. Remove completely oil, salts
and grease according to SSPC-SP1 solvent cleaning. Clean with high-pressured freshwater.

Phosphating: WEGLACK FRA 952 may be applied over phosphated surfaces.

Repair and maintenance: the surface must be clean dry and free of contaminants. Remove
completely oil, salts and grease according to SSPC-SP1 solvent cleaning. Clean with high-pressured
freshwater.

Mechanic preparation: It is recommended to paint on surfaces that are treated by mechanical or

manual cleaning by degree St 2 or according to standard SSPC SP3. Visual Standard ISO 8501-1.

Wood surfaces

New: apply one coat of the product 10001070 – WEGLACK SELADOR NC INCOLOR. After 2 hours
drying, sand the wood and remove completely oil, grease and other contaminants according to SSPC
SP1 solvent cleaning.

Repainting: sand the surface, removing bad adhered coatings. Remove completely oil, grease and
other contaminants according to SSPC SP1 solvent cleaning.

Respect the interval of repainting of the primer. If the time of repainting is exceeded, sand it according
to technical datasheet of the used primer.

For more information, please contact WEG Technical Department.

APPLICATION: Mixing
Homogenize both base and curing agent separately using a power agitator. Ensure that any sediment
is not retained on the bottom of each pack. Mix them in accordance to the recommended ratio (by
volume), under agitation, so that a perfect homogenization is achieved.

Thinner
Recommended – Alkyd Thinner 1024

Thinning
Thinning is recommended only in special circumstances. Depending on the application method, the
maximum thinning should be 15% by volume.

Only add the thinner after completely mixing components A and B. Do not use thinners that are not
allowed by local environmental legislation.

Excessive thinning may affect film curing and the achievement of the specified dry film thickness.

APPLICATION The information presented below shall be used only as a guide, similar equipment can be
METHODS: used.

Changes in pressure and tip may be necessary to provide better pulverization.

Before application, make sure that all equipment and parts are clean and in good conditions.

Purge the compressed air line to avoid contamination.

If application stops and pot life is exceeded, do not try to restart application by thinning.

Retouch all edges and weld seam s by brush in order to prevent premature oxidation.

When painting by spray, make an extra application on 50% of the previously coated area to provide a
proper top coat finish, and then conclude the operation with a crossed coat.

APPLICATION For a better performance of this product, please follow the orientations below:
PERFORMANCE:
If brush or roller is used, it may be necessary more than one coating to achieve the recommended dry
film thickness.

If application occurs in maritime areas, it is recommended to wash the coated surfaces with freshwater
between each coating, to remove all loose powdery deposits and soluble salts.

The product must not be applied if working pot life is exceeded.

Surface temperature must always be a minimum of 3°C above dew point. Do not apply if temperature
is below 0°C.

The product must not be applied in adverse conditions, such as relative humidity above 85% or
condensed surfaces. Color, aspect and gloss changes can be noticed in the film when application
occurs in high relative humidity periods, rainy or low temperature days or when the film is exterior
exposed.

For a better application performance, both components must be between 21-27°C before mixing and
painting.

Information about recoating is provided as guidance and may vary due to regional variations,
depending on the local climate conditions. For specific situations please contact WEG Technical
Department.

Some light colors may require more than one coating to provide a better perform ance.
