Assignment (Task) No. 1

1. What environmental issues and concerns move you and provoke you to action?
What efforts and practical steps can you do to influence others to take action?
Answer:
Global warming and Climate change are environmental issues and
concerns that provokes me to move and to take action, especially now that these
environmental issues is having serious impacts in the Philippines such as
increased frequency and severity of natural disasters, sea level rise, extreme
rainfall, resource shortages, and environmental degradation. It was mentioned in
the news that one of the problems that the Philippines is facing right now are the
Climate Change and Global warming, itself. The said news tackled the possible
effects of these two environmental issues. Based on what I’ve heard, I could say
that it’s very dangerous and alarming.
I’ve been practicing solid waste management since grade seven. I used to
collect all my garbage and put it inside my bag every time I’m in school. The
moment I see someone throwing their trash, I directly approach them by manner
to take their trash back and never do it again. I’ve been trained and always
reminded by my previous teachers and even my parents to always treasure the
gift gave from God. Simple actions can make big changes, and I want to share
those experiences by simply sharing knowledge to everyone. Moreover, in my
community I also keep reminding children to never throw their garbage/s
everywhere. And I am so thankful because they follow my reminders. As a
student and a future educator, we should always embrace the good practices and
show it to people.

2. Recall some of the creative classroom activities you had in school.

What made them creative?
Answer:
Playing games that involves guessing and acting, painting, and group
activities such as dancing and singing are some of the classroom activities I had
in school. These activities were creative because it made us show our talent and
skills. Those activities made us realized that we have unique talents that needs to

be sharpened and improved. Aside from that, those activities showed what art
was all about and it developed imagination, creativity, and build confidence.
Most importantly, the happiness/enjoyment of the students were present during
the activities.

3. Explain this quote from Picasso: All children are born artists. The problem is to
remain as an artist as we grow up.
Answer:
We all have our own talents and skills. We all born to become artists. For
me, every move that shows creativity and inspires other people is an art. You
have to let yourself go to he creative. You don’t need to move in a larger space for
you to consider yourself as an artist. All you need to do is to show to them your
passion with courage. Accept your flaws and try to find ways on how are you
going to solve it, and if not, use your flaws as your motivation to move, and not
the other way around.
Nowadays, Children possess this quality but then seem to lose it as they
heard negative feedbacks coming from other people. Those who develop their
talent continue to live an artistic life. Those who fail to excel, who fail to be
recognized for exceptional talent, seemingly abandon this form of creation and
expression.
As future educators, we must cultivate the inner artist in each student. The
joy of creation, the of expressing oneself with freedom and creativity, must not
be extinguished in any child. Educating the whole child, preparing students to be
ready for a tomorrow of balance and happiness, requires us to sow a love of all
the arts in our classrooms. Let them know that being an artist is one of the reason
why the Philippines is truly a diverse and a colorful country. Our place is
consistently admired and recognized by the other countries because of the talents
of the Filipino people.

The book is produced and published because the content of the book is
full of positivity. This book helps the reader on how to remain positive no
matter how hard the challenges are. This book is a reminder and a good
motivator to everyone, specially to those people who lacks positive thinking.

c. Is the book relevant to you as a future teacher? Why or why not?

Answer:
Yes, as a future teacher we must show to our students and colleagues
that we are positive in whatever circumstances. As of today, I struggle so much
burdens to the point that I already feel how negative I am. I’m so lucky that this
book was made. It helps so much, it motivates and help me keep strengthen my
mind and soul.
Positive thinking means you look for solutions and expect to find them.
You don’t ignore problems, but instead of complaining about them or letting
them overpower you, you actively look for ways to overcome them. You take
responsibility for your life on a consistent basis because you understand you
are in control of how your life progresses. A positive thinker finds the benefits
— or the bright side — of challenges, and expects things to work out well.
Having a positive attitude means you have an optimistic outlook. An optimistic
attitude means you have hope. You believe things will work out well and
ultimately you will have success. Positive thinking can lower a person’s risk of
death from serious illnesses, including cancer, infections, heart disease, stroke,
and lung conditions. It improves the outcomes of patients with brain tumors
and traumatic brain injury and boosts your immune system. A positive state of
mind even gives you a higher pain tolerance. When you have a positive
outlook, you are better equipped to cope with stress and hardships, you think
more creatively, and are better at problem-solving. Thinking positively puts
you in a better mood so you can form positive relationships with co-workers,
family members, friends, and new acquaintances.
