-As an adolescent, I don’t think I can balance the expectations of both people types.

-I am not that sure yet on how I would prove it.

-Yes, I am ready since I am determined to find a job, a career, have a stable living, and to be able to
provide for my family.

CHALLENGES OF LATE ADOLESCENCE


Physical Development
 Most girls have completed the physical changes related to puberty by age 15.

Emotional Development
 May stress over school and test scores.
 Is self-involved (may have high expectations and low self-concept).
 Seeks privacy and time alone.
 Is concerned about physical and sexual attractiveness.

Social Development
 Seeks friends that share the same beliefs, values, and interests.
 Starts to have more intellectual interests.

Mental Development
 Becomes better able to set goals and think in terms of the future.
 Has a better understanding of complex problems and issues.
 Starts to develop moral ideals and to select role models.

-To face the demands of an adolescent, I think what I need most to be developed are physical, social,
mental, and emotional.

ASSESSMENT
Directions: Analyze each of the situations below and make the right decision on what to do being a
responsible adolescent. Copy the statement of your answer in your answer sheet.
1. I can’t spare my studies, so I will say no to them this time
2. I will wear a mask because I will protect myself from him/her and vice versa.

1. How do you know that you are stressed? I know since I have a lot of physical and emotional signs
checked.
2. What stress signals do you have that other family member in your family also have?
It would be mood changes and high blood pressure
3. How much stress do you think you are currently under? I think I’m slightly beyond average.
4. How are your stress signals different for different types of stressors? They are different physically,
emotionally, and in behavior.
5. What are some ways that you usually remove or reduce the stress that cause you physical, emotional
or behavioral difficulties? Some ways to remove them is to talk to people you’re close with and cheer up.
