FOLLOW UP QUESTIONS:

1. How do you compare yourself now from before? How do you fair in your achievements?

-My way of thinking change from the past years, I absolutely think like a child into believing that the
world is a place without problems and that I always have time for playing. I always think my family and
friends will always be there for me to help when I have problems. But in reality, there are times you
have to cope up with your daily problems yourself as they also have their own. My interest also change
as I am more concentrated on my future and education now more than before. I also have lesser time to
bond with my friends because I’m swamped with things to do. Therefore, my present self is much more
capable and mature compared to my past self.

2. Do you think you can achieve more now than you were small? Cite some examples

-In my own perspective, I do think I can achieve more than I can achieve before since I did gone through
changes. Growing up comes with different experiences which aids in my coping up skills. Those
experiences taught me to stand up after every fall, be brave to breakthrough all of the struggles and be
independent. I became more passionate of what I want. I can achieve more now since I am no longer
coward on taking risks. I believe that if you try something, it’s either you win or you’ll learn.

3. There are many instances where in you can chose who you can be as of now. Why this current
“self”? Explain.

-There are many instances where I can be someone other than my current self just that I know for a fact
that I am making progress. That progress is still something whether little or not. If I go back time and
given chance to, change, I can but I won’t since my current self is already an output of all my
input/efforts. For me, the output “my current self” is not perfect but great. This current self is what I
wanted to become after all “an open-minded and concerned person”. My past self would be incredibly
happy to see me where I am today.

ACTIVITY 1.2: JOHARI’S WINDOW

Patrick James L. Pangilinan Known to self Not known to self

Known to others I like eating, I’m loud when I’m Sometimes quiet for no reason,
with the right people, cheerful, impulsive, kind, always spacing
friendly, hardworking and do out, caring, understanding, and
well in school caring as well
Not known to others Not good in socializing,
overthinks a lot making endless
scenarios, observant, thinks a
couple of times before talking
ACTIVITY 1.4: ENRICHMENT
1. How are you going to use the “Me” tree in this time of Covid-19 Pandemic?
-I will use the “ME” tree as a reminder of what I am and what I’ll become. It would be a reference for my
development as a student and a human being. It will serve as a journal of realization and breakthroughs.

This would also cover my achievements and successes during the pandemic. This will help overcome
problems and struggles amidst a pandemic. The strengths and achievements before will remind me not
to be a coward and fight for my future even with the pandemic still going.

2. What are your self-realizations?

-I realized I am becoming mature as I grow up and becoming one will make you enjoy the time for
yourself, focusing more on yourself and finding peace within. During maturity, I am always learning new
things that will help me get through. I also realized I’m no longer a child and constantly growing with lots
of responsibilities.

3. How does your self-realization affect your family? You may ask them in
answering this?
-My self-realizations affected my family in a positive way as they can now share things they don’t share
with us during our childhood such as daily struggles, problems in finance and responsibility. I can also be
a helping hand to aid in such a way that will not make my father feel less of a father. I also help in doing
chores so they won’t be bothered by that after a long day.

ACTIVIYY 1.5: MY REFLECTION THROUGH MY EXPERIENCES

1. People need to compare themselves with others in order to gain Insights of
their own behavior.
• When my mother was still alive, she always compare me to other people whether their
excellency or behavior. I wasn’t bothered by her comparison unlike the others because I
improved as a person thanks to that. It was a great help for me to know I wasn’t doing
things correctly or I became fully aware of my bad behavior as well.
2. “Kung ano ang puno ay siyang bunga.”
• My parents were always hard working. They were working their butts off day and night
just to provide a sufficient amount of food in the table. This line fits our family as I am
also hardworking in my studies and I always help for the goodness of all. I always do
greater lengths to have high grades so I can put a smile on their faces and a culture of
the Philippines which is to give back to them when the time comes.
3. Corruption is also shaped by our tolerance or our approach to answering
societal problems
• Most of the locals in the Philippines are below average salary earners or poverty in
general. Due to this fact, I am aware that people tend to sell their vote for a load of
money so they can use it for their own. But instead of voting someone who’s not
corrupt they chose to gamble the future for a small amount. For me, people should take
risk in voting the people who deserves the position so eventually the economic crisis
will put to end and for poverty to stop. This societal problem boost the corruption in all
ways and should never be tolerated and the government should take actions regarding
to vote buying so all the filipinos can eat thrice a day.
