Which among the categories you have the most in your list?
-The most category I have in my list the family category.
What do you think these things tell about yourself?
- I think selflessly of my self that the welfare of my loved
ones will always be my priority.
Application
Make a reflection paper about material self. You may use your answers from the
above question in making your paper.
-The material self is a temporal view on life, it provides the temporary
satisfaction we seek, it doesn’t only provide the wants we have, but also the
necessities that should be met first. Though it is fine to wish for these things, one
must not delve too much in this area, for what matters most is not the things that
we have bought, but the journey, the process of acquiring the things wanted is the
one that should be cherished most.
If a person continues fulfilling his/her desires for these temporal
materials, they’d eventually hit the an inescapable bog, that constricts them of
their living, because sometimes we need disconnect in order to understand the
value of living.
Lesson 4
Do good. Do God.
Analysis
1. Do you find that it is harder or easier to trust God when you’re losing control of a
situation (or when you finally have no control in a situation)? Explain why.
- I find it harder to trust God when faced with inequities, because there’s
a sense of disconnection when I’m facing something difficult, because I either
think that he’s oblivious of someone else's suffering or that his existence is bare.
2. What is it about our human tendencies that compel us to do everything in our
power to bring about a desired outcome? Where does faith come into play?
- Humans would do anything to achieve what they want and is often
fueled by passion or even sometimes greed. This is completely a normal human
emotion, this only becomes inhumane when you trample on someone else to
achieve your goal. Faith plays a huge role on this because it gives a sense of safety
that allows us to achieve our goal.
Analysis
3. When someone is going through a difficult time, what are some practical ways
to come alongside that person to show compassion and give support?
-You listen to them, that’s the best thing a person can do when
someone feels troubled about something. You can give an advice or two just to
give an opinion on how you see things which may help them realize a few things.
4. In your own faith journey, what have been the moments that influenced you
most? How has your faith grown stronger or weaker in those experiences?
- The moment that me question my faith is the time when the
pandemic started, it allowed me to question a plenty of things, because of this I
can say that I had a weaker faith compared before.
Application
5. Whatever your religion is, how do you practice your faith?
- I pray, that’s the best way to practice one’s faith or you could the
scriptures.
6. Do you believe in spirits? Supernatural forces? If yes, do you have a personal
encounter or experience with those forces? What did you do?
- No, I think there’s no scientific evidence for such phenomena to exist.
