The Surprising Benefits of Reading Aloud

Summary:
Reading Out Loud Improves Memories and understand complex texts,
to strengthening emotional bonds between people especially the old
ones. It builds their vocabulary and helps them develop a stronger
awareness of the communicative possibilities of language The
production effect is the variation experienced when words are read
aloud, versus reading words silently. The speaking of the words is more
active than silent reading, and therefore aides in the production of our
long-term memories. The generation effect (generating a word in
response to a question) and enactment effect also make it easier to
retrieve later. Reading aloud makes them more likely to become
interested in learning to read, which is likely to then spark a lifelong
love of reading.
