The fruit has a distinct warty

exterior and an oblong shape. It is

hollow in cross-section, with a
relatively thin layer of flesh
surrounding a central seed cavity
filled with large, flat seeds and pith.
The fruit is most often eaten green,
or as it is beginning to turn yellow.
At this stage, the fruit's flesh is
crunchy and watery in texture,
similar to cucumber, chayote, or
green bell pepper, but bitter.

The pineapple plant has a

short stout stem and a rosette of
sword-shaped leaves with needle-
like tips. The leaves are waxy, have
upturned spines on the margins and
may be solid green or striped with
red, white or cream.
The lack of leaves is another
water-preserving characteristic of
cacti. Leaves have a lot of surface
area and therefore lose a lot of
water. Only a handful of cactus
species, such as those in the
tropical genus Pereskia, have true
leaves. These primitive, leafy types
of cacti also have non-succulent
stems.
Talahib is a course, erect,
perennial grass, usually more or less
tufted, with stout underground
rootstock, growing to a height of 1 to
3.5 meters. Leaves are harsh and
linear, 0.5 to 1 meter long; 6 to 15
millimeters wide. Panicles are white
and erect, measuring 15 to 30
centimeters long, with slender and
whorled branches, the joints covered
with soft white hair. Spikelet are
about 3.5 millimeters long, much
shorter than the copious, long, white
hairs at the base.

A durian is a big fruit with a

strong smell and a hard shell with
sharp thorns. Its flavor is loved by
some people, especially in
Southeast Asia, where people name
it "King of Fruits". Many hotels and
public transportation systems do
not let people carry durians because
of the strong smell, which many
people find unpleasant.
Taro leaves are medium to
large in size and broad and heart-
shaped, averaging up to forty
centimeters in length and twenty
centimeters in width. The leaves are
dark green and smooth on the
surface and light green on the
underside. The underside of the
leaves also has veins that branch
out from the central stem.

A mangrove is a woody
tree or shrub that lives along
sheltered coastlines within the
tropic or subtropic latitudes. In
fact, the various species of
mangroves aren’t necessarily
closely related to one another,
but they do share the unique
capability of growing within
reach of the tides in salty soil.
Some mangrove species live
so close to the shoreline that
they are flooded with salt
water every day as the tide
comes in and submerges their roots.
Water Hyacinth have
slender rootstocks, feathery roots,
rosettes of stalked leaves, and few to
many flowers arranged in spikes or
clusters in the leaf axils. The
common water hyacinth (E.
crassipes) is the most widely
distributed species. Its leafstalk is
spongy and inflated, and the upper
lobes of the purple flowers have blue
and yellow markings.
The lotus leaf is rounded,
cupped upward, and is found
floating on water. The margins of
the leaf are smooth and wavy. The
leaf is depressed in the middle and
connected with the petiole.

The most easily

recognizable features of the
water lily are its green
leaves. Round, oval or heart-
shaped, they float on the
water or sit slightly above the
water. They are attached at
the center to the stalk, and
most feature a split that
makes them look much like
they have an open mouth.
