Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s

BHAGWANDAS PUROHIT VIDYA MANDIR, NAGPUR


Founded in 1938 by Dr. K. M. Munshi, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is today an All India, intellectual, cultural and
educational movement dedicated to the twin task of interpreting the age old yet ageless message of our
country and of integrating our varied and vibrant culture with the changing needs of the present day world.
During the eighty four years of its life, the Bhavan has come to be recognised as a symbol of India's glorious
past and as a comprehensive National institution with an International outlook touching all segments of life
enriching all spheres of activity.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan conducts classes from Kindergarten to Post Graduate Research and imparts
education in subjects ranging from Classical Music to Engineering, from Sanskrit to Business Management
and from Yoga to Journalism. This is being accomplished through its centres spread all over the country &
abroad, through its various publications, through cultural and educational programmes it conducts from time
to time and above all through personal discussions and dialogue.
1. General Information :
a) Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Nagpur Kendra established the first English Medium co-educational
school in 1982 at Civil Lines. The school runs classes from Nursery to Std. Xll.
After having established a prime institution in Civil Lines, Bhavan’s opened its second school at
Srikrishna Nagar, Wathoda in the year 1995. The school has classes from Nursery to Std. Xll.
The third school under Bhavan's banner was opened at Ashti (Khurd) in the year 2006 and has
classes from Nursery to Std. Xll.
The fourth school established in July 2013 at Trimurti Nagar runs classes from Nursery to Std. Xll.
The fifth school established in June 2016 at Koradi runs classes from Nursery to Std. XII.
The sixth school established in June 2019 at Chinchbhuvan runs classes from Nursery to Std. IX.
All the schools are divided into two sections :
(i) Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Bhagwandas Purohit Bal Mandir comprising of Pre-primary
Classes.
(ii) Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir comprising of Primary,
Secondary and Senior Secondary Classes.
b) The schools are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and prepare
students for All India Secondary (X) & Senior Secondary (Xll) Examination conducted by C.B.S.E.
c) The Schools have a house system. All co-curricular activities are organized housewise.

2. Aim of the Institution :


The schools aim at making the students attain self fulfilment in their personal lives and become useful
members of the community to which they belong and thereby become useful citizens of our motherland,
India.
To achieve this, the students are assisted to grow morally, intellectually, physically and socially by
forming in them habits of basic virtues like honesty, dedication, hard work, excellence both in academic
and non academic activities, habits of health care, concern for others and by cultivation of cultural and
aesthetic values characteristic to our ancient heritage.
Value education is given an important place in the curriculum of our school.
3. School Teaching Hours and Vacations :
Std. I to X Pre-Primary
Regular 09:00 a.m. to 03.20 p.m. Regular 09:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m
Summer 08:00 a.m. to 01:00 p.m. Summer 08:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
There are three vacations during the year :
1) Diwali Holidays : 10 days
2) Christmas Holidays : 10 days
3) Summer vacation : 50 days
These holidays may not be anticipated or extended.

The fee for the academic year 2023-24 will be as under. The below mentioned fees will be
effective from 1st May 2023.
