Define the following terms


1. Probationary Employee – A probationary employee is one who, for a given period of
time, is on observation by an employer during which the latter determines whether or not he
is qualified for permanent employment.

2. Regular Employee - Regular Employee means an employee whose employment is


reasonably expected to continue for longer than two years, although such employment may
be terminated earlier by action on the part of the Company or the employee.

3. Fixed Term Employee - Fixed-term employment is a contract in which a company or an


enterprise hires an employee for a specific period of time.

4. Project Employee - Project Employee defined as a person employed to work full-time on
a specific project.

5. Seasonal Employee - A seasonal employment contract is an employment arrangement


between an employer and a seasonal employee. A seasonal employee is one who has been
engaged to render work during a season, as defined under the Labor Code.

6. Casual Employee -A casual employment refers to a situation in which an employee is


only guaranteed work when it is needed, and there is no expectation that there will be more
work in the future.

II.
1. Discuss the General rule for employment of minors.
The general rule for employment of minors is “No child below 15 years of age may be
allowed to work” in any public or private establishment, except if the work will not
interfere with schooling, for a non-hazardous undertaking and under the direct
responsibility of their parents/guardians. And in such cases, the child will not be
considered as employee of the employer or their parents or guardians.

2. Discuss the maternity leave benefits of women.


Maternity leave benefits should be availed by the eligible female worker either before or
after the actual period of delivery in a continuous and uninterrupted manner. is an employee
who is covered and has paid at least three-monthly maternity contributions in the twelve-
month period preceding the semester of her childbirth, abortion or miscarriage and who is
currently employed shall paid a daily maternity benefits equivalent to one hundred percent
(100%) of her present basic salary, Maternity leave can be used as combinations of prenatal
and postnatal leave provided that postnatal care shall not be less than 60 days.
