1. Write a paragraph of about 140 words about the drawbacks of computer


games.

Spending a lot of time playing computer games has some main drawbacks, especially for
children. Firstly, some popular computer games, which glorify violence and crime, can shape
a bad perspective and may lead players to disregard values in real life. Violent computer
games can increase a person’s aggressive cognition and aggressive behaviour like fighting,
bullying and so on. Secondly, social skills, physical and mental health are reduced because
they are constantly glued to their screens and show less interest in interacting with their
family members and friends. As a consequence, they will become anti-social activities.
Finally, knowledge acquisition is limited due to not having enough time to study. For
example, many students, who try to play truant to have more time playing computer games
instead of focusing on their study, will get poor grades. In conclusion, computer game
addiction is such a critical problem that affects people badly.

2. Write a paragraph of about 200 words to give opinions about the effects
of movies and television on young people nowadays.
Movies and television bring so many benefits to young people nowadays. Firstly, It is a
useful tool to spread knowledge and information quickly and easily. Imagination, when a
movie is published on television, there are some millions, even billion people watching them.
Secondly, the visualisation on television makes people remember it easily instead of
studying through only reading books. According to a research paper, when people see
images or videos that have many colours and animation, the right brain hemisphere is
trained, so it is a reason for teachers who often use it to teach children effectively. Thirdly,
movies can help people become more creative to come up with new ideas. For example,
when I see a fiction movie, I tend to imagine some actions or situations that I have never
thought about before and I am more curious about asking the questions related to content
that the movie wants to express. In summary, with the modern lifestyle as now, movies and
television are such a necessary tool for young people to strengthen continuous learning
effectively.

3. Write two paragraphs about the benefits and negative effects of


tourism.

Tourism has many advantages for government and local residents. First of all, developing
tourism drives economic growth and increases employment. For example, a large number of
agencies, which focus on inspiring customers to go to some famous places, offer great job
opportunities for local people. Secondly, cultural assets and traditions are conserved. In fact,
when travelling, many tourists point to some useful advice for forest, facilities management
and so on. Moreover, they usually go sightseeing, take a variety of photos and share them
with their relatives and friends. It is a significant way to increase cultural understanding and
spread it in the world. Finally, tourism actually makes both travellers and residents more
empathetic because they spend time together exchanging a large amount of things such as
history, lifestyle, human characteristics and so on. So it definitely opens people’s minds and
connects each other in a friendly and easy way. All in all, it is clear that developing tourism is
a beneficial approach for the government to improve local residents' lives.

Meanwhile, tourism development also brings many negative effects for the lives of local
residents and the environment. Above all, pollution is a very serious problem, especially
plastic and water pollution. For example, many people drop litter carelessly everywhere,
even put rubbish into the water. This factor will influence the local resident’s lives and cause
many kinds of deaths. Secondly, the need for tourism development leads to ecological
destruction. For instance, in the height of tourism like the summer and public holidays, the
demand for accommodation and traffic are easy to cause a matter of fell forests to build local
infrastructure. In conclusion, tourism affects the local resident’s normal lives with
environmental pollution and ecological destruction.
