Education

Some people say that learning through the internet is better. Other
people believe that printed material should be used. Discuss both
views and give your opinion.

The most prominent reason why individuals should learn from books is that
books are an authentic source of information. For example, in India, a
separate department has been set up by the government to verify all the
information before printing it in books.

Some people say that distance learning programs cannot bring the
benefits of attending college or university. Do you agree or disagree?

The most prominent cause why it is beneficial to learn from online learning
platforms is because it is more convenient. For instance, housewives from
India can take graphic design courses offered by a teacher or a group of
skilled graphic designers from the USA; thereby, making learning easy.

2. Art

The government’s investment in art, music and theatre is a waste of

money. Government should invest these funds in public services
instead. Do you agree or disagree?

Provide knowledge of history

For example, in Vietnam, a Women's museum displays tools used by

Vietnamese women to dig the tunnel to protect themselves during the world
war, which may be poorly represented in regular history classes.

Job opportunities-

For example, in Canada, most of the government funds are allocated to the
art sector; thereby, it has become an emerging career option for the youth
in that nation.
Studying art in school improves students' performance in other
subjects because it is easier for multi-skilled students to learn new
things. That's why art should be obligatory in schools. Do you agree
or disagree?
1. Enhance the creativity

For example, drawing needs more brainstorming and imagination which

helps to enhance creativity. Ultimately, pupils perform better while solving
mathematical problems.

For example, in Japan, the adoption of art subjects in educational institutes

showed improvement in the academic scores of students.

3. Environment -

The increase in the production of consumer goods results in damage

to the natural environment. What are the causes of this? What can be
done to solve this problem?

1. Companies should promote the use of eco-friendlier material

For example, the giant coffee chain Starbucks has recently replaced plastic
straws with reusable alternatives made of materials like paper or bamboo.

The influence of human beings on the world's ecosystem is leading to

the extinction of species and loss of biodiversity. What are the
primary causes of the loss of biodiversity? What solutions can you
suggest?
Intense use of natural resources

For example, very frequent fishing does not leave enough time for fish to
reproduce and making them disappear.

4. Crime
Many people in today’s society enjoy watching movies or TV
programs about crime. What makes them so appealing to people?
What is the impact of this on individuals and society?

Impact – increase in crime rate.

For example, recently, in India, a boy named Aftab is found guilty of

strangling his girlfriend to death and cutting her body into various pieces
then dumping her in the city after being inspired by the crime show Dexter.

Children and teenagers are committing more and more crimes in

many countries. Why is this happening? How can we stop or at least
reduce youth crime?

1. Hectic schedule of parents

For example, in developed countries like the USA, working people, due to
their frantic schedule, are unable to get time to give moral values to their
juveniles. As a result, a lack of social and moral values stimulates children
to commit different crimes.

5. Tourism

It has become easier and more affordable for people to travel to other

countries.  Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

1. More job /employment opportunities

For example, the influx of tourists results in a large demand for restaurant
workers, tour guides, hotel staff and employees of retail services,
exhorting/encouraging business owners to hire more people for these
positions.
Many people believe that international tourism is a bad thing for their
country. Why do they think so? What can be done to change their
views?
1. Spread of infectious diseases

For example, in India, many people died during the COVID pandemic after
a visitor from China carried Coronavirus to the nation.
