harming our environment, causing pollution in land and water, and endangering animal lives.
Lessening the use of sand and gravel can reduce quarrying activities, prevent damage in
riverbanks, and avoid degradation of river beds. Reducing plastic and glass wastes is essential
for our environment by using it as a material on creating a brick that could serve as an
This study aims to create bricks with shredded plastic bottles and glass wastes as
The bricks with shredded plastic and glass wastes will be beneficial to the following:
Environment and Ecosystem. It will reduce the amount of plastic and glass wastes in the
environment, thus will minimize the effects of pollution. Also, it will also lessen the
excessive use of sand and gravel, thus will prevent the destruction of riverbanks and
riverbeds.

(Intervening Variables)
This study will use Engineering Design Process (EDP). EDP is a process that engineers
conceptualizing, prototyping, testing, and evaluating. EDP is an iterative process. This means
that in making the brick with shredded plastic and glass wastes, the researcher will test and
redesign it over and over until the researcher will find the best mixture that will pass all the tests
3. The brick is unable to absorb more than 20% of water (based on its own weight).
5. This test involves measuring a brick for its length, width, and thickness.
6. This test involves the visual examination of bricks.
7. This test involves scratching a brick by a fingernail.
8. This test will involve two bricks taken randomly and will be hardly punch with each
other.
9. This test involves breaking a brick to observe its inner portion for homogeneity and
presence of imperfections.
10. This test involves submerging fully a brick for 24 hours.
11. This test involves submerging fully a brick in fresh water for 24 hours.
12. This test involves dropping a brick from 1-meter height
13. Comprehensive strength test on brick is carried out to determine the load
carrying capacity of bricks under comprehension with the help of crushing testing
machine.
