Experiment:

“To verify kirchoffs voltage law (KVL)”

Tools:

 Power supply
 Resistor
 Cnnecting wires
 Measuring instrument

Theory:

Statement:
The sum of voltage rise and voltage drop in closed loop of electric circuit is
equal to zero.

Procedure:

 Take power supplyand resistor of different values.

 First connect the resistor in single loop through connecting wire as shown in fig.1

* Note the voltage of power supply ( or measure using voltmeter)
 Also measure the voltage across each resistor R1 and R2 i.e V1 and V2
respectively
 Sum all the voltages in the loop
 V+V1+V2=0
 Again take power supply and resistor of different values
 First connect the resistor in two loop through connecting wire as shown in figure.2

 Also measure the voltage across each resistor R1 , R2 and R3 i.e V1,V2 and V3
respectively.
 Sum of all the voltage in the loops is equal to zero
