CHAPTER 1: UNDERSTANDING THE MANAGER’S JOB

Murugan Ramu (2018) conducted a study about The Role and Functions
of a Manager.

"Profitability is derived from production, efficiency, management,

austerity, and the manner in which the firm is managed," according to a well-
known proverb. Management is in charge of the tasks listed above. In any
company, the manager's job is critical. The success or failure of an
organization is determined by the manager's capacity to effectively and
efficiently utilize the organization's resources, which, if employed effectively
and efficiently, will lead to success or failure. In any business or activity,
controlling circumstances and addressing difficulties is the most important
factor in a company's or organization's success. If a management needs his
team or employees to work together or focus, this is critical. A good manager is
compassionate and considerate of the people with whom he interacts. When
they gain momentum, he should tune in and react, offering signs of
acknowledgment and encouragement. By doing so, he will boost their
confidence and establish trust. As the supervisor, his ability to build trust and
assurance, as well as handle problems and challenges, will result in a
productive, goal-oriented work group. When they gain momentum, he should

goal of this research is to determine the tasks and responsibilities that are
assigned to managers in order for them to achieve successful management
success.

Conclusion

We learned how essential a manager is through this study, and how if

the manager fails to fulfill his job and duties effectively, the management would
fail to demonstrate its success. Great leaders are usually created rather than
born. We may become a powerful leader if we have the will and commitment to
do so. Aside from that, managers have the authority and responsibility to make
decisions on how to handle a project. A manager has a vocation to fulfill and is
expected to do so. Not all managers are considered to be leaders. Managers
may find the ideal leader, whose style they can adopt. He or she must be able
to adjust to a large number of things that are happening at the same time.
There are several components that go into being a good manager. Individuals
might simply fall into place for some, while others will need to take a shot at
them. In most cases, leadership abilities are induced learned and produced in
the context of introduction, cooperation, and practice. As a result, a manager
must pre-organize, organize, choose the proper members for the correct duties,
must lead by example, and regulate and make decisions using his power. And
he must carry out his responsibilities, which include dealing with people both
inside and outside the company, gathering information and disseminating it as
needed, and making daily choices. He must also be technically, theoretically,
and practically competent. To maintain management's trust, a manager must
be accountable, visionary, risk-taking, appreciative, and decision-making.
