YSABELLA CARIAGA TOUR 101 ACTIVITY 3

For the local leisure and recreation facility, I picked Rizal Park since it is a very
famous park visited when there is an event or celebration. Rizal Park (Luneta)
administrator said children will no longer be allowed inside the park amid the COVID-19
pandemic back in December 2020. They also limited visitors to 2,000 at a time. Vendors
are also not allowed inside the park back then. Rizal Park in Manila is a popular place
for families to visit during the holidays. Around 4,000 people visited the park on
Christmas Day of 2020. Visitors had to fall in line to have their body temperature
checked before they were allowed inside. Rizal Park is open from 5am to 9pm for those
who will exercise, and again from 4 to 9 p.m. Gatherings and picnics have been
prohibited at the park as part of efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 in 2020. Park
visitors are also required to abide by the park’s health protocols such as wearing of face
masks and face shields and filling out a health declaration form. Physical distancing
must also be observed at all times inside the park.

For the international leisure and recreation facility, I chose The Louvre in Paris.
The Louvre stood in relative isolation as tourists kept away due to the health crisis.
Home to the majestic painting of Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci, the museum was
closed for more than six months due to COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines. A major
tourist attraction and central to France’s tourism industry, The Louvre saw visitors
plunge to 2.7 million in 2020, down from 9.6 million in 2019, and the 10.2 million
reported in 2018. In accordance with French government announcements, as of March
14, 2022, a vaccine certificate is no longer mandatory to visit the Louvre museum. As in
all areas open to the public, the museum administration requests that visitors practice
social distancing and use the hand sanitizer dispensers at the entrance of the museum.
Wearing a mask is still recommended during the duration of visit. Independent tour
guides are allowed to bring groups of up to 25 people. However, in order to respect
social distancing measures, they will be required to use headsets and a microphone.
